Gas Prices in Your Area?
Holy cow.....Just the other day gas prices here were $3.19. Today, they jumped up to $3.49!
Listening to the MSM today, they made mention of gas prices going up 9 cents in the past 2 weeks......who are they kidding??

Anyone else see such an extreme jump within the past couple of days?

24. Right. I especially like their graphic map of prices per county
Edited on Tue Mar-11-08 12:24 PM by Wednesdays
http://www.durhamgasprices.com/Price_By_County.aspx?state=NC&c=usa

And as you continue to click on it, you can zoom down to individual stations.

Problem is, it seems their info is a little bit old. I'm looking at the stations on the map near me, and I haven't seen those prices in a few days.

was a while back. I forgot about doing it, for some reason.

Looks like the updated prices in my town are about 3 days old too.

18. Up 20+ cents from yesterday at some stations near Dayton, OH.
Yesterday at a Shell in southern Montgomery County the price was $3.199. Took nearly $50 to fill a tank, and someone observed that back in the day, $50 would fill a couple of tanks.

Today, at a Speedway somewhere else in Dayton, it was $3.45.9.

In. One. Day.

Commentator was speculating on $4.00 by summer. Fuck, it won't take that long at this rate. I predict $4 by the beginning of April.

I'm sure it's higher today.

On the up side: I no longer have to battle bumper-to-bumper traffic half the way home at 6 PM. And I was on the 101 Freeway southbound last night at 6:15 PM and it was almost empty. :wow:

22. Generally it ranges today from 3.09 to 3.19 in Oklahoma City
Edited on Tue Mar-11-08 12:25 PM by Wednesdays
It's now the highest I've ever seen...regular unleaded spiked to about 3.11 after Katrina, but it's higher than that now. One station nearby went from 3.04 yesterday to 3.11 today. In the last two weeks I'd say the average price has gone up about 15-20 cents.

25. Complaining about gas prices ranks right up there with complaining about the weather.
Except the weather here in Wisconsin is beautiful and sunny for early March. Overall life is good and I only visit DU so I can understand and appreciate how dissatisfied I should feel. Here the glass is not half full, but somebody is always pissing in the water.

32. Thanks.....
I took him to hundreds of physicians here and all they wanted to do was put him in a pain clinic. (Keep in mind that morphine didn't even help the kid) I took matters into my own hands, did some research and found someone out of state that I take him to.......that is helping him tremendously.

30. $3.45 here in mid-MI...and it's really killing us.
I do believe that overall gas prices have been artificially low here in the US and so in principle I support the prices going up - and I especially would if some of those increased prices were going into developing new technologies rather than just lining the pockets of Bush cronies. But we live on a very low income (as in our kids would qualify for free lunch, if we trusted the food!) and despite having fuel efficient cars, we're still spending almost $400 a month on gas now. Add to that the fact that our grocery bills have gone up about 20% and it's really squeezing us.
