The bastards! What right do they have threatening impeachment when Craig & Vitter are still in the US Congress?

They have EVERY right to threaten Spitzer with impeachment...that's what legislatures do!

Do you really want a legislature that utterly abdicates its responsibility to investigate potential criminal activities by the highest governing executive in a particular jurisdiction... oops, that's exactly what we have in the US Congress!

Thanks, Nancy. Thanks, Harry. Take a friggin' lesson from the NY GOP and do your jobs!

4. Impeachment is a legislature's job.
I don't understand being pissed at a legislature that's doing it's job, especially when there is clear evidence of criminal conduct.

I absoultely understand being pissed at a legislature that refuses to do it's job, as the US Congress is so clearly guilty of.

2. I am not sure that a Senator
can be impeached. I do think that the Senate as a whole can vote to expel a member.

Not sure that it has ever been done though.

5. You are correct...my point was more about the role of the legislature
in controlling the Executive...a role that the US Congress has utterly failed at, yet one the NY State legislature seems to be exercising.

3. That irony will be
completely lost on Nancy and Harry, they only see what they want to see.

6. No, it's not hillarious. The impeachment crap is disgusting.
After what the Bushistas have gotten away with, impeaching Spitzer for frequenting prostitutes is simply ridiculous.

He's an idiot for becoming involved and thinking he could get away with stuff like this without being outed. But idiocy is not a reason for impeachment. And I have no doubt that the 'investigation' that 'revealed' Spitzer's 'sins' was politically motivated. To impeach for this but have all of the GOP criminals get their free rides -- that would be to worsen what is already a miscarriage of justice.

7. He's guilty ...

Let him go down. You only make yourself look bad by standing up for him. Once you have the moral high ground, then you can go after Bush.
