Democrats.com: Rove Gets Spitzer's Scalp
Rove Gets Spitzer's Scalp
Bob Fertik

Karl Rove just added another Democratic scalp to his collection: Eliot Spitzer's.

Spitzer has not been charged with any crime. He was railroaded by the Corporate Media, led by Rupert Murdoch's NYPost and FOX News, with Karl Rove's "loyal Bushies" leaking furiously from Bush's InJustice Department.

So what's the standard here? If hiring prostitutes is a disqualification for office, then David Vitter must resign today too. In fact, a good chunk of the men in politics must also resign (and possibly a few women as well). And a bunch of reporters and editors must quit as well. And pundits too - yes I'm talking 'bout you, Dick Toesucker Morris.

If adultery is the standard, then Larry Craig must resign today, along with half the men in politics and the media.

If hypocrisy is the standard, then everyone in politics and the media must resign today, because there isn't one who isn't a hypocrite in some large or small way. Take Saint John McCain on torture, campaign finance, immigration, Iraq, global warming, lobbyists... you name it.

And if a criminal violation is the standard, then George Bush and Dick Cheney should not only resign immediately, they should go before a firing squad for war crimes (invading Iraq and torture) and treason (outing Valerie Plame).

10. Don't you know he controls everything, every media outlet, every red light in America, everything.
Just the other day my newspaper was in a puddle on the sidewalk, Rove made the person throw it there because there was something on page 2 he didn't want me to read.

And the plane today that went into restricted DC airspace, how can anyone deny that Rove was remotely controlling the pilot's mind to cause him or her to fly there, it's the only explanation possible.

12. Would you be surprised if a list of targets turns up? I wouldn't.
In fact, we could probably deduce one.

Rove has been basically managing the Justice Department. It's not tin foil.

The whole reason Siegelman was taken out was so Abramoff could get a friendly in there to milk for his casino clients. It's not even six degrees of separation -- it's like two or three.

New York Democrats were poised to dominate the state. Rove wants NY just as he wants CA -- and you know all the cr@p we've had to fight off here.

2. He fucked up plain and simple
It would have come out whatever happened, or does the poster have a double standard where Dems don't pay the price for behaviour like this?

4. WTF???
"does the poster have a double standard where Dems don't pay the price for behaviour like this?"

What have Republicans paid for their similar behavior?

I, for one, am sick and tired of seeing sex trump TREASON!

7. I bet you called for Vitter and Craig to resign.
Anything less for Spitzer would be hypocrisy. We don't want this in the Democratic party. Let the republicans own the sex scandals.

15. The fact that he fucked up doesn't mitigate the fact that he was targeted.

3. Spitz
I don't see what all the fuss is about. Sure, soliciting prostitutes is illegal, and certainly hypocritcal, given Spitzer's political stance on prostitution. But it's not like he bought real estate at an under-market price from a known criminal in exchange for favors. Duke Cunningham found out the hard way what happens when you do that, despite his party's considerable effort to sweep it under the table. I think Spitzer was certainly stupid, and has diminished his political potential. Still, he does not need to quit.

17. It's not paranoid BS.
It's truth. To say otherwise would be like an Egyptian.... Living in De Nile.

Spitzer filed suit against the EPA. He investigated the banking industry. He sure as the sun is in the Milky Way galaxy, was targeted by Bushco, Inc.

The freakin' DOJ "leaked" the story to the NY Times, yet whenever a republican is under investigation, Bushco, Inc. always says that they cannot comment on an ongoing investigation.
Spitzer was 'client 9.' Do you think we will find out who clients one through eight were, if they were any members of Bushco, Inc.? Don't hold your breath. This was a witch hunt, and when they found something that they could stick on Spitzer, they nailed him.

They nailed Vitter, and Craig. How come they are still in the Senate? Why are haven't their resignations been called for by the republicans?

Nah, If Spitzer had an (R) after his name, they would have canonized him, and nominated him for veep already!

16. Oh, Rove did it- OK. Fine whatever. Now let every Democrat BE ON NOTICE
They are spying on you. Yes YOU Dumbfucks, all of you. Because you are Democrats. This is the way it is everywhere: security institutions of the state, bastions of private property gladly collude with "conservative" parties against their liberal opposition. You may want to be their friends but it isn't up to you. They have BETTER friends in the Republicans and that makes you their enemy.
Didn't you get this after Watergate?
Didn't you get this after Lewinskigate?

The police, the banks, the intelligence services, the military are THEIR allies, not yours. You only represent the people. Therefore you WILL get caught. You will then lose your office and disappear into ignominy --while they lie their way through economic rape and ruin, fleece millions of citizens, lauch wars of aggression floated on Biblically large arks of lies, and they DON'T get caught.
Even when their actions are revealed NOTHING HAPPENS TO THEM. But YOU are naked, shieldless, and alone.

Do you get it now? As a Democrat and an enemy of capital, you will be caught--whatever it is-- and you will pay. A conservative can eat babies on live TV and go free, but you will lose your head for old parking tickets. Those are the rules here. They were written to apply to YOU. Please say that you understand.

Keep your fucking noses clean, and if you can't do that get the fuck out of politics and out of our party.
