Amy Goodman had it about right re Spitzer.
Last 5 seconds of a program about torture.
"New York Governor Elliot Spitzer has resigned effective Monday, March 17. New York Lt. Governor Patterson asked for the time to organize his incoming administration."

That's all.
No apocalyptic graphics.
No blaring dramatic crescendos.
Just a simple statement of fact.
Class act.
