Others who know her better than I may be able to dissuade me of my impression. I find Julie Mason, White House correspondent for the Houston Chronicle, to be a giggling moron in her many teevee appearances on Matthews' show and elsewhere on MSNBC. She seems without her own view and happily parroting whatever the interviewing host's views might be.

She seems much more interested in being a personality and a Beltway insider than being an honest broker of news.

Am I wrong?

No jumble of papers gotten through the FOIA or other sources; no post its with phone numbers that can be shredded instantly, if necessary; no chair for people to sit in while she pumps them for info "off the record."

Yep, looks like what J-schools are pumping out, "nice" people who wait for press releases to drop into their laps via email, not scruffy working class types who go out and try to grab stories.
