$4 gas is here!
okay, everything costs more on Maui, even more than on O'ahu, and this is especially true of gas 'cause we have refineries and they don't -- but you know it's coming where you are soon...

http://starbulletin.com/2008/03/12/news/story01.html

He doesn't expect any relief as fuel prices continue upward on Maui and have already soared past the $4-a-gallon mark in rural areas.

The average gasoline price for unleaded regular in Wailuku, the county seat located only a few miles from the fuel transshipment port of Kahului Harbor, appears poised to set a new town record and edge past $4 a gallon....

In rural areas of Maui County, gasoline prices have already climbed well over the $4 mark, including $4.62 a gallon for regular at Lanai City Service, the only public gas station on the Pineapple Isle. Premium was $4.69 on Lanai and diesel was $5.07 per gallon.

Prices yesterday for regular gasoline were $4.39 at a station operated by the Hotel Hana-Maui, $4.33 at Lucky's Gas Station in Maunaloa, Molokai, and $4.13 at Rawlins Chevron Service in Kaunakakai.

1. I just got back from town ($4.19 a gallon for diesel)
I was doing my monthly shopping (10% off day!) and noted that diesel was $4.19 a gallon.

2. I paid $3.71 in downtown LA yesterday.
Can someone please tell me why we aren't going after these oil shilling motherfuckers? When Bush took office, oil was $23 a barrel. Now it's $100 a barrel and pushing the $125 mark. Investigate the god damn oil companies and bring them to trial now!

5. Yeah. Time for George to "jawbone" those prices down.
Didn't...didn't he promise to do that or something?

9. George's promises do not mean shit.
It seems like we have George Costanza in charge of our country, not George Bush.

8. I guess if you live on Lanai,
you better get a couple of Cuban illegals to sell you some of their technology on how to convert a "57 Chevy for amphibious operations...

13. I've been using a bicycle for most transportation since 1991
I felt a little silly during the first Gulf War chanting "No Blood For Oil" while being a voracious consumer of oil.

14. I choose
to live in the city, less then a mile to work. I love to walk so for me it's perfect. I do drive a small five speed that gets good mileage-tho I don't need much.

17. Those on fixed incomes are really in a fix!
My retired parents will definitely be staying home for everything that is not an emergency. They will not be able to go anywhere with these prices.
