Why did Spitzer resign, but Republicans do not?
Spitzer resigned, but Vitter did not. Larry Craig did not. Countless Republican perverts did not. Cheney and Bush the criminals cannot be impeached (according to Pelosi). I'm not getting it. Why did Spitzer resign if Republicans commit crimes left and right and don't resign? I don't get it.

1. Good Question. Vitter certainly should have and wide-stance was going to but backed away
and got away with it. But Spitzer did the right thing in resigning. He could not have effectively continued as NY Governor and now we'll have somebody in there who will get a fresh start and do a good job, too.

3. Why does DU expect Repukes to behave honorably?
That's what I don't get.

4. Because we are better than them...
We won't fall back on bibles, lame excuses, and arrogance to get away with something.

5. Because they have learned from ChimpBoy that there are NO CONSEQUENCES
for any of their actions.

Just as Daddy and his rich friends protected Georgie and bailed him out of every mess he created, they know that THEIR party will protect them.

Until there are personal consequences for those who do wrong, they will have no reason to correct their behavior.

7. reason
The decision to resign is usually pushed by those within the party. Party members are the ones that pressure tainted officials to resign because they believe that staying would be damaging for the entire party itself. Republicans would love if Spitzer stayed in office as it would provide an easy target to put down all the time.

14. True, however, they don't force their perverts like Vitter out of the party
They let them stay in despite being the biggest hypocrites on the planet.

8. I posted this in another thread - because the GOP always plays the GOD card
and, just like Vitter....they just claim to have had a talk with "GOD" and it's all good now. Then they declare they'll stay in power to continue doing God's work.

This is a special right reserved for only con-artist, con-servative "Christians".

10. For one thing, Republicans defend their leaders, whereas we attack our leaders constantly.
Just look at how many DUers have lit into Spitzer, like so many Republican attack dogs.

13. At the end of the day we have the moral high ground
on this one. He actually did the right thing. I don't give a damn about people's sex lives and I don't even care who buys sex, but when you're destroying prostitution rings, you can't be hiring prostitutes from them.
