Beautius hard boiled eggs to go with yer green beer!
Edited on Sat Mar-15-08 03:02 PM by lonestarnot
drop your eggs into a cold pot of water that covers the eggs. Cook on medium heat to a barely bubbley boil. When the barely bubbley boil is reached, set your stop watch for 2 minutes. In 2 minutes, turn off the heat and cover the eggs. Set your stop watch for 10 more minutes. Get your boil of ice water ready. When the 10 minutes are up, drain the water and slam your eggs into the ice water. Peal so nicely (unless they're fresh, then you're fucked). Beautius EGGS WITHOUT THE GRAY RING! Get your green beer and fart until your heart is content! Top of the afternoon to ye ya fookin leprechauns! :toast: green beer!

4. I learned the hard way to never drink anything that is either green or blue.
I suppose that each generation needs to learn this lesson on their own :)

Happy St. Paddy's Day! :toast:

5. Great instructions
but ingestion of hard-boiled eggs and beer is off my menu forever. When I was but a lad in the submarine service, I took shore leave in Dunoon, Scotland, and did imbibe many a pint of grog, interspersed with half-a-dozen pickled eggs over the course of the evening. The next morning at quarters, I did vent to the atmosphere a voluminous cloud of the sulphuric variety that nearly wiped out a score of my crewmates - in the open air, mind ye! The Chief of the Boat did then inform me that any further escapades of the flatulent sort would be met in the harshest of terms.

13. Not only an enlisted puke
but a forward enlisted puke - lower than whale shit and not fit for chum...at least according to the nukular-trained crewmembers.

20. lol! After 56 years, I just learned how to make excellent hard boiled eggs a month ago or so.
Similar instructions to yours.

From Rachael Ray.

In a small pot, cover eggs with cold water. Place over high heat and bring water to a boil. Once it comes to a boil, cover the pot and turn off the heat. Set a timer for 10 minutes. After the 10 minutes, cool eggs under cold running water.

They also peel very easily and are delicious. :)

23. I use a pin to poke a small hole on one end before putting in the water.
this lets a little air get in to keep the shell from cracking.

Also, moving the eggs around constantly in the first few minutes helps to center the yolk.

Shamrocks and shaleileighs!

All that white junk squishing out the ends? And wow moving them around centers the yolks and improvement! :P I love improvements! :toast:

25. You don't shove the pin all the way in, just a bit. Egg shells are already
permeated, anyway, and it's a tiny hole.
