Five very long years….

There were so many of us that knew the rush to war was just that…a rush to war.

We wrote letters, we posted on DU, and we called our representatives. I still cannot believe the world wide protests….so many people cared.

We had candle vigils during Shock and Awe. Many of us were physically ill.

Five very long years….

We have seen the popular President become not so popular. We have seen so many dead. More of us are gearing up to write letters, post on DU, call our representatives and protest world wide. But it won’t matter….we will have more candle vigils, become physically ill, and many more will die…

Five very long years will turn to ten…..

We know it was all lie….we knew then. We know there is no exit strategy. We knew then.

Five very long years….

To the women of Iraq….there is not a single day of those five years that I did not think of the hell that has been brought to your door. There is not a single day of those five years I do not shed a least one tear for you. I still become physically ill. At least once a day of those five years something I’ll suddenly look at my life and realize my problems are so insignificant compared to what has been wrought upon you. Yet I realize, my tears and thoughts each and every single day of those five years do nothing for you. For that I am so terribly sorry.

1. Five years to many, that's for sure.

I've seen some comments here that "nobody was protesting the invasion back then.
Everybody agreed with it". I aways reply, "'Huh? WTH? Many were protesting!!"
I just wonder where they were and how did they not know there were many opposed.
Those comments just baffle me but the fight to end this tragedy will not end.

2. Peharps too many of them are too young to know what happened...

Its not like it was broadcasted on MTV.

3. No, they are older members.

And at the beginning the demonstrations were reported, at least I saw it on TV.
That's when the RW talking heads started yelling about it, remember? I do.
And that's when the M$M stopped reporting about it.
