OK DUers let's calm down and predict Bushco's diversion
for tomorrow. We all know Bushco won't let the economy hog the airwaves so what will Bushco give us for diversion tomorrow so that M$M can play along.

CNBCC is way too depressing for me.

Maybe someone will attempt to attack McSameasBush, Lieberman and Graham in Iraq...or have they left as quickly as they arrived?
That would be great diversion.

Back then we were a creditor nation
FDR had the money to pump zillions into the economy. Now, we'd have to ask the Chinese for the money and they seem a little busy with the whole Tibet-massive-uprising-thing going on.

34. Not quite that simple.
In 1941, the national debt of the United States was about $50 billion. At the end of the war, in 1945, the debt rose to almost $260 billion. I don't know how that translates into todays dollars, but we were still paying it off during Carters administration.

If we get into a shooting war with Venezuala right now that would not only divert everyone's attention and but it would "secure" a third of our oil supplies -- just in case things don't go according to plan in Iran. (Not that anything is going to go wrong, of course.)

37. Alien invasion?
You know that guy Gerry McKinnon, the one who hacked into the pentagon's computers to find pix of UFO's, the one they're moving heaven and earth to extridite to the US from the UK?

Well, he said in the super secret Pentagon files he hacked he found "a list of officers' names, under the heading Non-Terrestrial Officers". And he found "fleet-to-fleet transfers", and a list of ship names.

John Ronson who interviewed him says, "I looked them up, too. They weren't US navy ships. What I saw made me believe that they have some kind of spaceship, off-planet."

http://commentisfree.guardian.co.uk/jon_ronson/2006/07/why_does_no_one_care_much_abou.html

How about that? An alien invasion by our own spaceships!

29. It's time one of Bush's team "took one." I predict Rice.
She is the least desireable member of the team in Bush's view, based on race alone. And she has also been an embarassment to the rest of the team, and hasn't really contributed anything vital to the administration's machinations. I would not be surprised if she was suddenly injured, or even killed, in a "mysterious" car bombing when she's picked up at her favorite shoe store.

For those that think it would be inconcievable for Bush to maim or kill one of the members of his administration, think back to Nixon's Watergate behavior; he threw advisors to the wolves "for the good of the team." Also, when I say "Bush" I mean Cheney, the only one ruthless enough and smart enough to pull off such a stunt.
