Jim Cramer CNBC - recommended Bear Stearns in March !
Yet another classic from Cramer who has been in need of professional help for some time now.

Jim Cramer CNBC March 11 - he recommends staying in Bear Stearns.

Dear Jim: 'Should I be worried about Bear Stearns in terms of liquidity and get my money out of there?' --Peter

Cramer says: “No! No! No! Bear Stearns is not in trouble. If anything, they’re more likely to be taken over. Don’t move your money from Bear.”

7. Someone looked at Cramer's picks over the past year
Cramer was wrong 66% of the time and right 33% of the time.

My students in my remedial math class back in 2000 had a 61% winning pick
over a 4 month period.

22. He trashed Shumer this am
on Scarborough. According to Cramer, unemployment is low, the slowdown is nothing to be concerned about - merely cyclical and will be over within 10 months, and the Democrats are being scare-mongers for political reasons. Plus, they don't really understand our free market society. Scarborough treated him like royalty. Mika made her usual feeble, kittenish protest, and I wondered once again why I had Morning Joe on instead of CSPAN.

He claims that he now represents the middle class, but most of his stock picks are crap. If he can deliver for the rich than he can deliver for the middle class.

31. CNBC has been trying to spin this as "Cramer was right"
They're saying that he wasn't talking about stock, but rather money that was invested thru Bear Stearns - that he was right because the Fed and JPM bailed Bear out. They say he wasn't talking about the stock, because he knew that the stock was crap but that if he had told people to sell off Bear it might have caused a selloff and that that would have been unethical.

I can actually understand that point, but Cramer was anything but clear that day as to whether he was talking about the stock or investments via Bears. He should have been more clear - his vagueness leaves the impression that this was just the latest in a series of DISMAL stock picks he's made in recent months.

I've posted on this in the past, but in general, it seems that if Jim Cramer recommends you do something, it might be a very good idea to do the opposite...

40. According to Andy Sullivan, he wasn't talk about owning Bear Stearns stock
but having money in a Bear Stearns portfolio, which is still worth just as much.

So, if Sullivan is correct, Cramer is not wrong.
