I just heard the STUPIDEST justification for the Iraq war
I was listening to my local news radio station and their nitwit conservative commentator comes on to once again talk about Saddam Hussein's ties to al-Queada and other jihadist groups.
His source? Pentagon papers from 1993!(:wtf: ). These papers actually said that Hussein was funneling money to jihadists in Somalia and other places!
Okay, so first of all we all know the Pentagon has so much great fricking information (WMD's anyone, the war will take 2 weeks etc).
But this was TEN years before we invaded? Come on! Are you seriously gonna tell me that based on 10 year old intelligence that Iraq was such a threat?
Just when I think conservatives can't get any stupider....:banghead:

1. Then they must be really ticked off that the U.S. was funneling money to Osama in the 80s.
Say...maybe that's why GWB is destroying the U.S.

5. I had forgotten that Cal Thomas is on WTOP.
I don't listen to WTOP much anymore. AM-1260 has pretty decent traffic reports if I am traveling into dc or nova.

3. I actually think their desperation is very telling
I was watching a radio talk show host forum on CSPAN that included both liberal (Shultz, Sharpton, Stephanie Miller) & conservative hosts. It was quite telling that 1) they were not defending McCain 2) Shultz quipped "when conservatives run out of material, they bring up Clinton" (Bill) - he got a big laugh from the audience 3) the conservatives were generally defensive and lacked any real good lines - other than ones actually making fun of John McCain.

I think we're in good shape at this time.
