My capacity to hate grows exponentially
Well, maybe not my capacity for undirected hatred.

I'm speaking, of course, of my hatred for all things Bush and all things connected to Bush.

I even find it hard to think nicely of Barney.

Seeing him comment about the current financial mess is simply the latest. He seemed as clueless about this as he did about 9/11 when hearing of the first attack and as uncaring as when he and McCain were doing cake and he was playing air guitar while a US city was drowning.

The cruel and unusual punishments I think of for him would make a confirmed S&M adherent blush.

1. And you would be right to do it
All of this stuff was preplanned and executed flawlessly.

I say, go wild! Until enough people get outraged, this will be business as usual.

Meanwhile, I'll enjoy my

2. Wouldn't give a homeless man a biscuit
but bails the banks and his buds out, clean away. That is what gets me crazy. My money friends who say that people have just planned poorly, will happily sit while their bank is bailed. * brings out the badness in humanity and pushes those of us who care to the edge. Peace, Kim

to watching ranting morons on the tube.

Seriously, hate will eat you alive and we need you strong and healthy when we start to defeat these bastards in earnest.

5. All I can say is that you diminish yourself. There's enough negativity
in life w/o impugning evil motives to your political opposition. It also dulls your capacity to compete.

6. Political opposition is one thing
Edited on Mon Mar-17-08 03:34 PM by Husb2Sparkly
Bush is the antithesis of decency and the embodiment of uncaring incompetence.

21. Well, Fredda, when you (the personal you) have no problem with illegal wiretapping,
what's left to diminish?

Just asking.

22. You are mistaken. I see no point in suing the telcoms when the
questionably legitimate regime deceived them. But by its definition, illegal wiretapping is a problem.

7. Maybe that's what angers me the most about the * regime :
They play on the worst in us -- fear, racism, selfishness, and the like, instead of inspiring in us a desire to be better. Worst of all, they've been unbelievably successful at it. :(

23. As would I....
the uncertainty is what I am outraged about....I no longer am sure what is truth. What really hurts is knowing that the surety of evil that accompanied the under the desk nuclear drills of the fifties has in these last few years morphed into a desire to lie spread-eagled in an open field and scream to anyone else's spy sattelite "Here I am and yes, I deserve it..." I was born to a white hat and losing my status has unmanned me.

hate before. I taught my children it was a wasted, and nasty, emotion that hurt only the hater. Unfortunately, that POS and his minions that hijacked our country in '00 have taught me the fine tuning of hate  And, to give such low-lifes the power to do so is even more upsetting!

edited to correct the actually take-over of our country!

10. I Agree--Evil Deserves a Response of Hate
I agree with this completely. I think they have well-earned the anger that is being directed against them, and I think that DUers who instantly make statements against hatred of Republicans of this type, are conflating two separate issues. If you are appalled and outraged at the machinations of very rich, well-connected capitalists, to dismantle the entire structure of legal protections for the middle class and poor, and who then calculate to destroy and steal everything now available, I think the only emotion it can reach, for anyone with a conscience and the ability to think ahead to the suffering these people will now undergo, is hate. To confuse this with "being eaten alive" by a constant, and as you mentioned, "undirected hatred," as a fixed personality trait of an abuser, or a psychological disturbance, is to muddle together two different situations. One is a vicseral rage, the other an opinion, and I actually don't even bother with the emotion anymore when I think of these evil people--I have the intent of opinion, and know what I know. What do you call rich people who vanquish every part of your life, and were not even paying attention to you at any time? This reminds me of the violent rapist I read about some years ago, who admitted to police, questioning about the crimes and the victims, "I never knew any of their names." They were absolutely nothing.

Capitalists of this "make-nothing/invest-only" type, think of themselves as "superior" "players," and every knife slash to an actual worker, is a fun act of sport. Make no mistake--they really do not give a rat's ass. We are a million miles away to this type, and on the "wrong sort" of planet.

11. I replaced hate with pity years ago, works alot better for the health.
Gotta think of the blood pressure. Think of creatures like Cheney and Bush like something to be pitied. No matter their power or position - what they are doing and the way they behave is pathetic and wrong.

16. it is good and right to despise evil
i don't think it is wrong to hate those who torture, kill, and maim for money, i think any healthy person instinctively feels hatred and disgust for torturers

i would love to see * and cheney on full public trial for their crimes and all their evil deeds ezposed to where even the stupidest-ass * lover would have to recognize the truth, if that makes me a hater bring it on

our emotions exist for a reason and hate is one of the rather basic ones

Were our nation not so inflexible, we could have forced action long ago on the things we actually hate, and it would not have festered into the generalized, impotent rage that will destroy us.
