GOP Lt. Governor in, are the same people who wanted a pound of flesh from Spitzer going to go ahead and call for this one to resign in the name of ethics as well?

1. Paterson handled this well
He and his wife fessed up to the Daily News, and got it out there long before the media could dig it up. They had difficulties in their marriage and this story will die a quick death. Spitzer's problem is that he tried to hide his dalliances for years, all the while building up a crusader image and even taking down a few call girl rings in the process. Spitzer is a hypocrite, Paterson isn't. Big difference.

10. Lie detector tests for all "incoming" politicians?
What is the point in replacing someone because they cheated in their marriage? Replace them with who? Someone whose affair just hasn't come out yet? Or someone who has cheated, fessed up, and moved on? But the bottom-line is that they cheated, too! So what the h---!
It's just not the kind of thing that can be monitored, "slash," should be used as a criteria for holding an office/position. I venture to guess if all the politicians were asked to submit to polygraph tests, an overwhelming majority wouldn't take it, and the majority of the remainder would be found guilty. So now what? Hire all women? Well, who did the men cheat with? It's all just a ridiculous waste of time!

3. GOP Cannot be trusted
If Hillary somehow pulls off a (major) upset and wins the dem nomination, and if Paterson is out, then the new GOP NY gov would pick her replacement.

What kind of shenanigans are going on in Illinois?

4. There are always shenanigans going on in Illinois.
We are known for them.

However, the Democrats are firmly entrenched here. If Obama becomes the nominee or the President, a good Democrat will replace him.

All DEMS MUST BE SAINTLY. Faithfulness ranks ahead of torture and death.

But, all Repubs can be homophobes or homophiliacs or heteros, but heteros who would never go to a Days Inn.

9. I tend to believe that's exactly what they're trying to do.
And it hardly matters if they have anything on Paterson or if he's a good guy or not.
