Bush Earned Impeachment 5 Years Ago Today
Tuesday, March 18th, 2008 in News
by James Bovard

In a memo sent to Congress five years ago today, Bush decreed that he was attacking Iraq “to take the necessary actions against international terrorists and terrorist organizations, including those nations, organizations, or persons who planned, authorized, committed, or aided the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001.”

The Bush administration linked Saddam to 9/11 to justify commencing a war that has left hundreds of thousands of people dead.

Launching an unprovked aggressive war was recognized as a war crime at the Nuremberg tribunals in 1946, which declared that to “initiate a war of aggression… is not only an international crime; it is the supreme international crime differing only from other war crimes in that it contains within itself the accumulated evil of the whole.”

The Bush administration has had five years to offer up evidence to support the Saddam/9/11 tie. They have offered nothing. It is an outrage that Bush has faced no legal or constitutional peril for his lethal fraud.

America was torturing people before the Iraq invasion

and if torturing people isn't impeachment worthy, then America is a shitty country with a shitty government

2. He was ILLEGALLY spying on US citizens before 9-11-01.
Let's just say he's deserved impeachment since day one.

Because he has.

3. Never before in American History has any President ...
... committed acts so OFTEN that richly deserve impeachment, removal, indictment, conviction, and imprisonment. It's not even close.

4. Why is Conyers blocking Impeachment?
He promised to begin Impeachment hearings when Dems took office in 2006. He has stated that Pelosi is not stopping him.

What happened to Kucinich introducing Impeachment of Bush? He promised to do so at the State of the Union.

I for one am tired of the dog and pony show. People are DYING here and they are playing these bullshit games.

6. Well...
Kucinich did bring charges for impeachment didn't he? I heard him on the radio. Don't know what happened to it though. Sounds like it sort of fizzled out. There's too many Senators in Bush's pocket for impeachment at this point sadly, and a lot of the other ones seem to be afraid to speak up. Kudos to those who have though. Who knows, it could happen if the democrats get a more sizable majority next year.

9. He introduced impeachment of Cheney, but not Bush as promised
In fact he promised to do it before the State of the Union, then backed down at the last minute. He has just been leading activists on since then. Something happened  and I want to know what!

I want the Impeachment resolution of Bush on Congressional record, and the chance for everyone to shout in support of it. These bastards are planning on writing the history of Bush's presidency as he was a hero, supported by everyone, a great leader and protector.

7. Kucinich introduced an impeachment resolution not too long ago
During the motion to consider, Republicans were VERY supportive. The Democrats quickly tabled it, in their continuing effort to avoid the issue altogether.

Impeachment of the Cheneybush is seen by the leadership of both parties as being politically advantageous to Republicans.

8. Very beneficial
Considering that if it were to fail, the Republicans would have a field day, accusing the democrats of partisan bickering and so forth.
