2. I modified the poll to reduce or eliminate overlap in the options.

Also, I found in discussions there that answered questions I had that negated my need/want to ask the Admins.

And the Admins don't have to answer every request anyhow, many times other DUers would answer the question.

I miss the Ask the Admin forum

Well, if the traffic was too much for them, maybe make it a GROUP - which is for donors only (to post, anyone can read groups)
