It's getting ugly out there . . .
Edited on Tue Mar-18-08 06:10 PM by Brigid
I like to watch Wolf Blitzer in the early evenings on Cnn, especially Jack Cafferty's segment. He gets the best e-mails! Tonight the last question of the hour was: "How is the crisis in the economy affecting you?" The best response: "Last Friday I was laid off. My brother just called me to say that he was laid off today. Does this answer your question?"

It's getting scary (ugly, Cafferty calls it) out there! And yet the * regime calls it a "tough patch." :eyes:

1. Surprised They Still Give Cafferty His 60 Second Segments
He gets all worked up about things, I'm surprised they haven't muzzled him yet.

2. Yes, it is getting scary.
This is the first time ever that I've worried about the possibility of becoming homeless. My husband and I have cut down as much as we possibly can, and we're still struggling to get by. I have no idea what we'll do if it gets worse.

7. Wifey got released 3 weeks ago,
and no offers of employment, and to top it off, after 30 yrs of paying into the system, she is refused benefits. Yes, we have appealed, but no guarantee of it being reversed. Things are tuff and getting worse.

14. Her ex-employer is fabricating the reasons
for her release. They dont want to have to pay the unemployment and all an employer has to do is lie about the reasons and the state takes "their" word for it. As I said, we have appealed, but that takes time and in the meantime, we are hurting badly.

12. I was making more twenty years ago than what these kids today are making
hell thirty years ago construction wages were about where they are today. The American dream is no more. We've been reduced to live and die with no fun in there anywhere. republicanism sucks big time

6. My job may end in May.
My van just locked up and there is no money to buy anything else. I have $20.00 in the bank.

At least I have my health. Anybody want to buy some health?
