This is a scandal that gets more horrific all the time. After Kilpatrick being discovered to have family members on the City payroll, doing no work, paying for SUVs for the family, etc., steering City contracts to friends who then do nothing, partying (famous Washington Post story a couple of years ago) in Washington, D.C. during a Mayors' conference, etc., etc., funneling all kinds of City funds to personal use and not providing the very poor City of Detroit with basic services, there was a rumor of a party with strippers at the Mayors' mansion. It was investigated by a couple of high-level investigators with the Police Dept. They were suddenly fired and a slander campaign launched against them. They sued, won the case, (jurors laughed about how unbelievable Kilpatrick was), and during the trial, text messages showing an affair between the Mayor and the cheif of staff Christine Beatty were revealed. This led to a lawsuit by the son of a dancer at the rumored party, who had been later murdered, by a police weapon. The texts should multiple lies about many topics, the case, the party, now admitted-to, and all amounting to new perjury. The next step will be the horrific account of what happened to the dancer, and why. The speculation is that she was murdered so she would not talk about that party. A retired police clerk has now told, that she was there when a report, with police and a hospital, was filed, that the dancer was touching Kilpatrick inappropriately at the party, and was beaten with an object by the mayor's wife, severely. Later, the reports disappeared, and the dancer was murdered. This is a very horrific situation here, for someone known as a "thug," to quote Sharon McPhail, who now unfortunately works for Kilpatrick.
