Does Sean Hannity Have a GED?
I heard a radio host saying that Hannity dropped out of school and got a GED and that he makes 25 million dollars a year.

I tried to look it up but I didn't see any confirmation.

That's for sure...

3. High School Diploma
According to his bio on Wikipedia:

Education
Hannity graduated high school in 1980 from St. Pius X Preparatory Seminary in Uniondale in Long Island, New York. Described as "an indifferent student", Hannity dropped out of New York University and another college numerous times for what he said was lack of funds, and later decided to pursue a radio career. In 2005 he spoke at a graduation ceremony of Jerry Falwell's Liberty University, who awarded him an honorary degree.

5. I have a GED. You can still make good money with one.
Not to defend him, but it's true.

6. That's very true
I was a little apprehensive about posting this because I didn't want to offend anyone. I hope I didn't offend you.

I was surprised with Hannity because he seems to place himself above everyone.

9. You didn't offend me.
I didn't think it was your intent, though it'd hardly be the first time that GED holders were berated here. ;)

No two lives are the same. Sometimes, people don't have the ability to follow the 'standard' path. I earned a GED because health issues, of a very private nature at the time, forced me to leave high school. It was something I'd always regretted, but I felt very proud to finally earn that piece of paper years later.

7. So what if that's true?
Not to be defensive, but is there anything wrong with that?

I didn't graduate high school. It was boring. Later, I got a master's degree, but that's beside the point lol

10. I understand.
It is striking if someone like him lacks formal education. But, in a sense, it helps his personal narrative with his core audience. I don't place too much stock in formal education.

12. Well, I Do Place Much Stock In Formal Education
and the reason i think it matters that Hannity, Limbaugh, Liddy, and some others never graduated college is that they PONTIFICATE on subjects about which they know nothing in particular.

If someone at least finished college, they may have gleaned something from one field of study that would amount to expertise. When one hasn't done that, then the self-righteousness is just "know-it-all-ism". And they deserve to be called on that by reminding anyone who will listen that they do not have the education to be expert in the areas of expertise they claim.
