Easter Protests Planned By Church Group (Westboro again)
ORLANDO, Fla. -- Members of a nationally known church will be picketing outside of several Central Florida churches on Easter Sunday with a message pastors say is more about shock value than God's words.

A group from the Kansas-based Westboro Baptist Church has announced they will be outside Easter services at St. Luke's United Methodist, First Baptist Church, Calvary Assembly of God and Mary Queen of the Universe churches early Sunday.

Westboro church members said they believe school shootings, 9-11 and solider deaths are "God's revenge" for America's moral decline and tolerance for homosexuality and abortion.

"This nation is awash in sin," Westboro Baptist Church member Stephen Drain said. "The people of Orlando need this preaching more than they need oxygen to breathe and water to drink."

2. Who is funding Westboro's trips around the country?

I don't really care enough to look into it, but it makes me wonder where their money is coming from. Is their membership that large to put so much into the church coffers?

4. I don't know about now, but in the past
a large percentage of their money came from successfully suing people who, Westboro claimed, had libeled them. Just about the entire family are lawyers. Old Fred-o has been disbarred for years, but many of the other Phelps children are lawyers in good standing, so pursuing the cases doesn't cost them, per se. They have a family firm, Phelps Chartered, which may also contribute to the coffers by doing regular legal work, although what person in their right mind would hire them I can't imagine.

7. One is tempted to stage fake tragedies and fake deaths of (fictional)
homosexuals.. just to bankrupt these assholes by luring them to travel all over the country -back and forth, every which way- so they can put on their grotesque street theater. Keep 'em on their toes, and run them ragged.

10. Oh. I thought maybe they were protesting Jesus's death on the cross
You know, saying He deserved it because God hates fags and Jesus said to love your enemies, and do unto others and love thy neighbor and stuff like that.
