Aw Nuts: CBS Pulls Plug On Jericho
"Jericho" has been canceled, and no amount of peanuts will bring it back.

"The March 25th episode of Jericho will be the series finale," CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler said in a statement. "Without question, there are passionate viewers watching this program; we simply wish there were more."

The show was canceled after its first season, but was resurrected when fans joined together and sent tens of thousands of pounds of nuts to get the network to change its mind.

-----

Producers hedged their bets by shooting two alternate endings to the final show, which airs Tuesday.

One is a cliffhanger that could have led to a third season and the other ending is said to bring "closure" to fans.

This season they sure had some interesting parallels to what happened to this country during Bush Admin! I'm going to miss it. Glad they are giving a closure ending and I wouldn't mind seeing it picked up by a cable net.

7. I just discovered it a few weeks ago, and watched most of the series streaming online. This was such
a good show.

13. Yeah, I started watching recently also. Mostly on the HD channel
where they "air" the episode the following Sunday morning. Enjoyed it tremendously. I can't imagine a better show taking that time slot.

19. I caught some of it when Sci-Fi Channel ran it this winter - found it rather propaganda-ish
I recall one character aligning the "terrorist's" military powers with that of China and Iran ... :wtf: ...and just seemed to be acclimating the public mind to the idea of rag-tag "terrorists" being perfectly capable of carrying out a multi-nuke attack against the U.S. Also, from what I watched, there was almost zero military/govt intell/alphabet org presence within the scenario, which, something tells me that if another false flag is carried out, there'll be plenty of such presence abound. To be fair though, I didn't watch all of it, nor that closely. Something tells me The Day After remains a more accurate film version of what the next war will look like.

23. If you had continued to watch
You would have seen that it was proven that it was a rogue element inside the government that actually did it and blamed North Korea and Iran as an excuse to nuke them and create a new "Neo-Con" government.

8. Its a good show -- it was nice to have a compelling noncop, nondoctor, nonlawyer drama

But then again, thats why its not being watched more.

9. Damn. Must have been to close to the truth for comfort. Can't have anyone putting Iraq into
terms that they could easily understand.

is some hope though that Sci-Fi will pick it up.

11. "Jenning and Rall", "Ravenwood", right-wing corporate run government rewriting history books
I think the writers/producers knew what the ultimate verdict would be, so they decided to really stick it to 'the man'.

As is typical here, someone will take umbrage. I am sure you can find some writeups online.

14. I'm really pissed. Watched it from the start, wrote when cancelled. My guess: Repukes stopped it
too close to the truth or what's in the works.. They brought it back for what, 4 episodes and expected viewership to increase. That's bullshit.

30. "This isn't a government, it's a corporation, and you're nothing but the middle man"
when Skeet Ulrich looked at Esai Morales, the Army colonel, and said that, it hit home and described what's going on now better than anything I've ever seen on TV. Perhaps the truth is too bitter to behold and CBS couldn't take the heat from the repukes.

18. CBS didn't give it a good night to run, IMO.
It's a great show and makes people a little uncomfortable. MAybe that's why it didn't do as well: it makes peole have to think through their alliegances and how unprepared they are for any disaster on this scale. What would they do without their American Idol?

25. At least CBS
did give them the time to bring it to a close. It averaged about 6 million viewers, not enough for prime-time. I do understand that the producers are looking for a cable outlet, so maybe...

BTW, I'm a big fan and love the anti-Bush slant to the show.
