Truckers protest diesel prices
by MONICA VON DOBENECK, Of The Patriot-News
Saturday March 22, 2008, 2:48 PM

Angry truckers gathered at a truck stop off I-81 Saturday to protest the high price of fuel and plan how to get the country's attention.

They agreed to send a convoy to the state Capitol March 31 during morning rush hour as a start. A convoy to Washington, D.C., might follow and, if that doesn't work, a strike, some said.

"We need to tell the greedy oil companies we won't stand for this anymore," he said. "We can't let government walk all over us."

2. Why now? Why not two years ago..
This has gone on too long without any protest by all..We let them get away with this price gouging and I don't think any protest will do any good.... I'm convinced that the high gas prices are a result price fixing because of commodity trading...I will not buy into this BS that gas is high because of world wide oil shortage...Nope not buying it.....but the average American I think feels helpless and must pay the price while oil companies are making billions in profits....Any one of the big three auto makers would love to have the annual profit that these oil companies earn in just 3 months...
When a large majority of our Washington politicians are getting their pockets filled with oil money we just dont have a chance to change the course of high gas prices.
