Exxon Mobil's tax bill

I was watching Thom Hartmann debate Neal Boortz, and Boortz claimed that Exxon Mobil pays more taxes than the bottom 50% of Americans. my first thought was, that simply means people in this country are so damned poor, we practically live in a third world country! Not sure about the facts of this, but I suspect we may be seeing this piece of garbage on the right wing forward circuit.
