Grover Norquist on CNN - Vicious Right Wing partisan whore
Grover Norquist, president of Americans for Tax Reform; Laura Tyson, former economic adviser to President Bill Clinton were on CNN Sunday morning with Gloria Borger sitting in for Wolf Blitzer who was off celebrating his birthday.

I caught about 10 min of this circus and almost lost my early morning breakfast.
Grover Norquist is a vicious lying right wing whore and he needs to be slapped upside the head.
How is it that we can't defeat a party that does nothing but lie and continually distort the truth?

The conversation was about the economy and who is at fault for the current conditions we find ourselves in.

Gloria Borger asked this question:

When the economy isn't doing well, usually Americans blame the current occupants of the White House and they get voted out, who do you think is to blame for the country's economic problems?"

Laura Tyson, provided a thoughtful analysis of what she felt were the issues and she was continually interrupted by a snarling Norquist.
Talking over her, interrupting her, telling her that "like all Democrats all she wants to do is filibuster" and in general, just being a world class asshole.

Nothing he was saying was supportable (or even close to correct) and Borger did nothing to challenge him on "his facts".

He was just there to spout Right Wing bullshit and reinforce the meme that the Democrats are responsible for all of America's woes and that if given the opportunity they would only make things worse.

Only Republicans are good for the economy.

I'm not a violent man, but if I lived within 20 miles of where he was being interviewed I would have sped to that location and met his lying ass in the parking lot with a baseball bat.

I'm so tired of this shit.
I'm so tired of being lied to and lied about.
I'm so tired of vicious, rabid, scum-sucking assholes like Norquist, being provided a platform to spread their evil distortions and half truths.

I wanted to cave his skull in.
I hate that I feel that way, and I hate them for making me feel that way.
The other night I ripped into a friend who is politically ignorant, and like most Republicans "know what they know" even if it's wrong and will not listen to facts or reason.
I told him that if he continued to call Hillary "that bitch" and Barack "a nigger" I was going to demonstrate to him that words have consequences and he was going to suffer a few of those consequences when I knocked his teeth out in his own backyard.

Then I left and I doubt that I'll be invited back.
And you know what?
Fuck him - he won't see me again.

I can't wait until we humiliate these assholes in November because I just can't take it anymore.

17. Norquist and his good buddy Abdurahman Alamoudi.
The Boston Pheonix reported in 2003:

On October 28, 2000 at an anti-Israel protest in DC Alamoudi said:

"'I have been labeled by the media in New York as being a supporter of Hamas. Anybody supporters of Hamas here?' The crowd cheered. 'Hear that, Bill Clinton? We are all supporters of Hamas ... I wish they added that I am also a supporter of Hezbollah.'"

. . . The Protestant Norquist is a founding director of the Islamic Institute, a socially conservative Muslim think tank that eschews international issues in favor of domestic issues such as tax cuts and faith-based initiatives. In addition, Norquist’s lobbying firm, Janus-Merritt Strategies LLC, was officially registered as a lobbyist for the Islamic Institute as well as for Abdurahman Alamoudi, the founder and former executive director of the American Muslim Council."

http://www.bostonphoenix.com/boston/news_features/this_just_in/documents/01848515.htm

In 2004 he admited in a plea agreement that:

"Alamoudi acknowledges having obtained money from the Libyan government and other foreign sources, "unlawfully, knowingly, and willfully falsified, concealed and covered up by a trick, scheme and device." He transmitted these funds to the United States, 'outside of the knowledge of the United States government and without attracting the attention of law enforcement and regulatory authorities.'

In doing so, he engaged in illegal financial transactions and filed false tax returns. He lied about his overseas travels, his interest in a Swiss bank account, his affiliation with a Specially Designated Terrorist (the Hamas leader, Mousa Abu Marzook), and his membership in terrorist-related organizations.

Of particular note are admissions by Alamoudi that he:

Was summoned by Libyan leader Muammar al-Qaddafi to two meetings and as a result of these Alamoudi helped organize the assassination of Saudi crown prince Abdullah. (The plot was foiled.)"

http://www.capmag.com/article.asp?ID=3824

Note there that he was involved in a Lybian plot to assassinate then Crown Prince Abdullah. At the time the US was negotiating with Moammar Kadhafi to giove up his small amount of nuke technology in order to get in there and get his oil. (Also, while all this was going on, Kadhafi was continue to arm Liberian dictator Charles Taylor.)

That Grover Norquist has some dirty hands.

"For his crimes, Alamoudi's punishment can include serving up to 23 years in prison, forfeiting US$ 1¼ million received from the Libyans, paying six year's worth of back taxes plus penalties, and having his U.S. citizenship revoked. Alamoudi could also be removed from the country and not allowed back in. (But the agreement defers decision on Alamoudi's expulsion until after his prison term ends, suggesting that he is singing like a bird.)"

2. I was sickened when he was on The Daily Show and Jon let him off easy.
Grover Norquist is as bad a scumbag as they come, and that's saying a lot.

I have quit watching The Daily Show because I am sick and tired of seeing Jon Stewart give an unending parade of right-wing whores a platform, and only gently needling them about it.

I dumped two friends of over 20 years in the past two years who are both rich and Republican, and think the war is just swell but not for their draft-age sons.

Fuck 'em.

10. When I see him with an infamous war criminal. .
I can tell when he's edging up to a substantive question, they eye each other, and Jon backs out. There must be a fair amount of discussion beforehand on these appearances. "If you think you might want me on again. . . " type of stuff.

4. I think you speak for many of us here gmbmc.
I get so angry with these dumbfucks I get incoherent. It is simply astonishing to me that in 2008, people will still tell me that the reason they won't vote for a Dem is because of "lazy people on welfare". :banghead:

6. Thank you TCB - the "lazy people on welfare" is a PERFECT example...
Of the idea that if you say something over, and over, and over, and over, sooner or later it seeps into the mainstream thought process and becomes a truth.

When Norquist (the whore) said that Dem's want to increase support for labor unions (like that's a bad thing) that's when I lost it, and started screaming at the TV.

Support for labor unions is a bad thing.
If that's true then I must also surmise that:

Clean air is a bad thing.
Safe food is a bad thing.
Jobs with equal and fair pay are a bad thing.

You know what's bad?

REPUBLICANS.

God, I need to calm down.

8. I respectfully disagree
Norquist is a lobbyist who is in the business of buying and selling members of Congress and other lobbyists. The K Street project, in which lobbying firms were shaken down by Tom DeLay to give money only to the GOP and not hire Democrats, was a scheme of his concoction.

It's the members of Congress and the lobbying firms who are the whores in this tale. Norquist is a pimp.
