I have several

Bush (obvious)
Brittney (obvious)
Wright (obvious)
Faith (too much preaching already)
Spitzer (I am tired of horny old guys.. I live with one..that's plenty)
Chris Hansen (enough with the naked predators)
Keith Morrison (the mellifluousity of his voice curdles milk..as does the childlike unctuous wonderment)

9. "Newsbreak"
I know whenever a program is being broken into by some news bureau, the reason is ridiculous and what follows will likely be full of intentional or unintentional lies. The latter will happen if there really is something remotely newsworthy as reporters are running around like headless chickens trying to figure out what just happened and getting nothing but rumors.

10. There aren't many.
But then, I consciously never allow my tv to be turned to a news or talk program. I only have to change channels for commercials, and I almost never see political commercials, either. I guess the fact that I don't watch major networks plays into that. I can't remember the last time I saw a campaign commercial.

If a presidential campaign commercial came on, I'd change it. I don't want to hear any propaganda about any candidates. My vote is based, not on what others say, but my own efforts at becoming informed, and my own judgment. I would no more use a commercial to inform my vote than I would a campaign speech.

"SOME SAY"
"SOME PEOPLE SAY"
"A LOT OF PEOPLE THINK"

Who are these people?
Where does "some" live, because I don't want to live close to there.

But the one thing that will have me sprinting for the remote?

Anyone from the Family Research Council or the American Family Association and especially that puke Tony Perkins.

I really hate that prick.
"Some people" say I'd like to knock the shit out of him.

God, I need to calm down!
It's Easter Sunday, and this is like the third post this morning where I have threatened to cave someone's skull in!

Maybe I need a drink instead of another cup of coffee?

First runner-up: Jim Cramer, that idiot on CNBC.

Who in their right minds listens to either of them for more than thirty seconds?

30. "According to Polls" & "Bush" & "Obama" or "Barack Obama" & "Racism"
Edited on Sun Mar-23-08 03:02 PM by anonymeme
I'm tired of bullshit, period.

TV used to provide entertainment and a bit of mental escape into happier realms, and it also provided a little window on the Truth with the news for the good, the bad, the ugly and occasional beauty in the world...

Now it provides sales pitches and thin wisps of entertainment used to sell the public things for "needs" trumped up by admen to make us feel incomplete and unable to compete without their products which are value absent and a noxious waste of the environment and the human sweat it takes to make the money to buy all this crap.

Vanity and "Winning" are ALL, and whatever doesn't create fear and anxiety over not having all these things to "survive" the human rat-race, panders to the gods of vanity and ego in almost all of us...

No wonder suicide is on the rise.

And almost everything that is supposed to entertain -- more and more of it -- is plastic and formulaic.

These things are so hollow and empty...

As is the Newsless News we're fed, the "sanitized," redacted, government created, written and approved version of the "facts" is a hideous travesty -- no, it's beyond a travesty it's a total gah-dammed crime!

How does Barack Obama fit into this? He is a sham, a human bag filled with empty words, and what has happened to the Democratic party as a result of this slick-talking, johnny-come-lately selling snake oil and dreams and promises of salvation on which he cannot deliver, but the lemmings and rodents all around me are just lapping it up.

And I'm going to have to live under the tyranny of idiocy if the blind public manages to foist him on us.

See, and maybe readers will get this analogy and maybe they won't but, my mother's living and health care on my father's pension from Corning Glass & SS -- my father is deceased -- was adversely affected by all the dumb broads who had Dow-Corning silicone breast implants -- women who wouldn't insist on their menfolk accepting them as they were but had to have silicone breast implants, even getting them after there was evidence they might be harmful, then came all the class action suits which Dow-Corning had to pay to these supposed grown ups who made the conscious choice to alter their bodies as a result of Vanity, crippling and nearly putting Corning under...

And then, lo and behold the FDA comes out in 2006 and says the silicone gel breast implants aren't dangerous, and what are the dumb broads doing again? Flocking to get their boobs enlarged... Jesus, if it was me, I'd put the money on an education...

The point being that we ALL suffer as a result of shallow minds, shameless pandering and empty promises, stupid rodent and lemming like behavior that makes people run after shiny objects and then right over the cliffs...

God, it makes me so *bl*tzf*ckn'* PO-ed! I probably need to take a break from this before I blow a gasket!

31. Yeah I'm sick of being sold Obama when he's really NOT who people think he is.
At this point, I'm sick of Oprah too because she promoted and sold this fraud. :puke:

This country is gonna get what it deserves. Far too many people are just too damn shallow, foolish and stupid.

How frickin hard is it to educate yourself on the candidates instead of lapping up the lies because it's being dished out by Oprah & the evening news?! :argh:

32. TheGoldenRule...
Oprah may have done a lot for people -- especially people of color & children -- but she has some issues of her own and ideas that are pretty far out there.

A few years ago I got and read the Celestine Prophecy based on her recommendation, and the fact that she was so certain this was something that was going to happen on earth to earth and all the people on earth -- a bold new vision of the future.

She pitched it as if entirely plausible... and I think I was less than one chapter in before I started wondering if she'd lost her mind.

It a beautiful fairy tale... but with no way of ever being a reality.

By the time she got to pitching "The Secret," late last year or earlier this year, I realized she wasn't living in the real world -- and really, I guess, she has so much money she doesn't have to.

I don't want her castles in the air, I don't want her space-cadet ideas and I sure as shootin' don't want her Presidential candidate!

Anyway, you have a fellow sufferer here who agrees with you wholeheartedly.

Yep-Oprah is out of touch and so are all the rich elite who run this country.
I never read the Celestine Prophecy or The Secret and I'm glad that I didn't waste my time.

Oprah has done some awesome things and I will give her the credit due for that. But it doesn't excuse what she's doing now.

To foist Arnold on California and now Obama on the rest of us is just disgusting. She is blinded by the insulation of her wealth, but also by friendship, loyalty and yes, her race.

I won't jump for joy when this country gets what it deserves for it's stupidity. No, I will weep because we have lost our way and didn't stop this somehow, someway before it got so out of control.

In the end, we will all pay the price.
