America ........ Meet Justanumber
He was killed a day or so ago in that mess in Iraq. One of three soldiers killed in an all-too-common roadside bomb attack. He is the 4,000th officially noted death in this awful war.

But to hear about it on the news or from the government, he is simply Justanumber.

I wonder how his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Justanumber feel about that. For them, he is not a statistic. He is Real. Their son. Their loss. Their grief.

But to the people who want this war and those who cheer lead for it and those who cover it up ..... he is aptly named:

Justanumber.

3. And the M$M band plays on, must get better ratings doncha know.
People are just the things that make their news stories, the real shine comes from our blessed news whores. They hate the people so, dirty little creatures sucking up all the good air. :sarcasm:

4. Not for a heartbeat to minimize a single one of these losses, especially
given that a dear friend lost her only son, but I heard something today on NPR that gave me pause.

It was a mom who's affiliated with the fallen heroes group.

She said something that caught my attention.

Her kid was # 1868 or something (paraphrasing). She said, "to the families who are grieving losses, the number of their own is all that matters. Then it all becomes a wash."

On that show they also talked about how military families referred to a "Big America" comprised of those untouched by the war, and a "Small America" comprised of those who have been.

But never mind, our fearful leader assures us "it's only a comma," "the surge is working," and "money trumps peace."

e-gads

peace bro

5. How many more Justanumbers?
How many is enough to make this country wake up and smell the death? Probably a lot unless the draft is implemented.

I don't want a draft. I have two sons that would be eligible. I want PEACE and I want it NOW.
