1. I'll be in Northern Italy in May and hope to speak with students in Bologna

about U.S. politics and hear what they have to say. Ihope something is really resolved in our party by that time but I fear that it may drag on.

However, I am going to Spain in late October, returning the day before Election Day. THAT will be an interesting time abroad.

I was in Rome on Election Day, 2006, having voted absentee ballot before I left. It wasn't til I got to Siena that I found out we'd won the Senate! We celebrated with gelati in the Campo!
