Watched a movie yesterday about Geronimo
One scene in the movie was about a small Indian encampment that was raided by bounty hunters and all Indians were scalped including women and children. One of the actors made a comment that I found humorous in a way. They were talking about what sort of people would do such a thing and one said it had to be Texans, "because they were the most despicable people on earth". One of the only scenes that I laughed at..

4. I think the American Indians learned how to scalp from settlers.
In the 11th century, the Earl of Wessex scalped his enemies. When the English and the Dutch came to the new world they brought the custom with them. This activity was brought not so much as an official method of warfare, but as a bounty to ease the anger of the frontiersmen.

7. Geronimo's a good movie
It's Robert Duvall who says the line about Texans, which I found funny, after having lived in Texas nearly all my life.

9. Was that scene set among big granite boulders?
I think it might have been filmed here. I stole a wooden barrel off the set of a burned out miner's cabin. Still have it.

I might be mixing that up with Young Guns II, but seems Geronimo had some scenes out here too.

10. Is that the one with Wes Studi as Geronimo? He'd be perfect.
I remember him as Magwa in Last Of The Mohicans - seriously bad dude.

12. I watched a good indian movie this weekend called Path Finder.
600 years before Columbus discovered North America, the Vikings tried to settle here and were met with a force that scared the hell out of them.
