One scene in the movie was about a small Indian encampment that was raided by bounty hunters and all Indians were scalped including women and children. One of the actors made a comment that I found humorous in a way. They were talking about what sort of people would do such a thing and one said it had to be Texans, "because they were the most despicable people on earth". One of the only scenes that I laughed at..
4. I think the American Indians learned how to scalp from settlers.
In the 11th century, the Earl of Wessex scalped his enemies. When the English and the Dutch came to the new world they brought the custom with them. This activity was brought not so much as an official method of warfare, but as a bounty to ease the anger of the frontiersmen. :dem:
