Is the Dept. of Justice absolutely friggin stupid or what?
http://money.cnn.com/2008/03/24/news/companies/xm_sirius/?postversion=2008032416

Regarding the proposed XM-Sirius merger:

The Department of Justice did not place any conditions on the merger.

"Since we determined that there was no competition between the companies, we did not need to set any conditions as such," said Assistant Attorney General Thomas Barnett during a conference call with reporters Monday afternoon.

WTF? XM and Sirius weren't competing with each other?

1. Yes
How can the Bush DOJ get around this? Simple declare that ipods/itunes are a 'competitor' so there is no anti-competitive / anti-trust issues. What more did I expect from these guys.

9. Honestly, that's EXACTLY what their reasoning was
http://biz.yahoo.com/rb/080324/xm_sirius_antitrust.html?.v=12

<snip>
In a victory for Sirius Chief Executive Mel Karmazin, who lobbied hard for the deal, the Justice Department agreed the satellite radio companies face stiff competition from traditional AM/FM radio, high-definition radio, MP3 players and programming delivered by mobile phones.

3. FDR answered Americans' questions about "For What Noble Cause."
Bush has not.
A single of an American soldier that is not for a noble cause is one death too many.

7. Not stupid no, criminally negligent or cronyism or graft or
or or or so many other things since the JD runs directly against the law, nowadays. Wasn't always this way. There was a time when criminals didn't run our federal government. Well not like the corporate pirates we have today.
