1. Is anyone surprised?
I think if one included suicides and non-combat deaths the death toll would be much higher too.

7. Around the water cooler
Maybe tomorrow we should mention this to our co-workers. They can watch it on NBC.com on their computers.

This is a new kind of combat, and, once again, we are not prepared. This kind of care is, most times, forever. I had a father with TBI and I know. He was a veteran of the Korean War, not Iraq or Afghanistan, yet I know the devastation it brings to all involved.

We must stop this now. That's all I can say.

I recommend we talk it up to our friends and associates. It can't hurt.

Thanks,

LA

12. If the numbers are correct - I doubt that is the explanation
the difference between just over 20,000 and 200,000 is huge. Do we really think that there have only been a little over 20,000 physical injuries requiring services from teh VA? I have to say, that the difference in these numbers is So astoounding that I really would have to read the articles/sources both to varify the lowball number from bushco and the high number refered to in this post. Why would i want this info? Not because I would doubt that this admin would be so venal - but because before I would repeat such numbers I would want to know (and be able to refer to) that they are real/valid. This is frankly - astounding. Would love to be able to source the info and pass it on to others.

14. my brother used to work at VA and said 150,000 more than 6 months ago, so 200K
seems about right

of course I don't have a link for this, but it should come out in MSM eventually..

15. All the numbers have been a lie.
Deaths, injuries, fragging, desertion.
All under reported.

16. 200K Seems Like an Awful Lot
If I recall correctly, the usual ration of injuries to fatalities is about 10 to 1. 200K would be over 60 to 1.
