Cheney on 4000 dead: "They volunteered"
And that's not the worst of it. He also said this:

Noting the burden placed on military families, the vice president said the biggest burden is carried by President George W. Bush, who made the decision to commit US troops to war, and reminded the public that U.S. troops in Iraq and Afghanistan volunteered for duty.

That's right folks, the biggest burden isn't carried by the soldiers, or the families of dead soldiers, the biggest burden is carried by wittle Georgie Bush, who has had to "worry his troubled mind" over his decision to go to war.

This is the most disgusting thing he has ever said. And that's saying much..

Thanks Crooks and Liars

4. They didn't have "other priorities" then?
Translation of Cheney's comment: "If they weren't willing to die, they could simply have asked daddy to make a phone call on their behalf".

How much money has Cheney personally made from this war now? Last figure I heard was $30 million, but that was a while ago.

6. He says the next president wannabe who thinks they can walk away from our commitments?
Shouldn't he have said the president wannabes think they can just walk away from our mistakes?

Nothing is going to change, as Cheney and Bush will never be convinced they were wrong. The arrogance..."So?" "They volunteered..."

We have 300 more days? Oh, my!

7. Calm down. When we reflect back on this time in history...
it'll all look like one big frigging comma. And who wants to waste their beautiful minds on 4,000 commas?

:sarcasm:

10. Hey, he signed up 6 whole "volunteers" for another four years. Proof positive
that all the troops over there want to keep going back, again and again and again and again . . .

18. Hundreds of thousands of them have stepped up, though,
to protect their country and vote . . . to protect their coutnry from the infidel occupier and use our democracy like toilet paper --as Ted Koppel heard a Jordanian intelligence offier put it -- to elect their religious leaders who have more in common wirth OBL than they do with Thomas Jefferson. (the same might be said for W. as well, I guess)

8. Leaving Iraq would be the same thing that happened in Afghanistan?
I love that asked Raditz what the solution to all the repeat deployments is.

When were we in Afghanstan before and then left that led to 3000 Americans getting killed on 9/11? What the hell is he talking about?

Is he talking about the Russians leaving? Is he talking about the fact that he let OBL get away at Tora Bora? Or the fact that as soon as Kabul fell he and monkeyboy started moving all the assests congress had earmarked for Afghanistan to the Persian Gulf?

This guy is living on another planet. And what about that meeting in Prague with Iraqi agents and Mohammad Atta? That's a hot one, why didn't he bring that up?

They didn't volunteer for anything.

14. The Iraqis aren't even commas... they are zeros.
In the mind of these oilmen, people are zeros.

Genocide is being committed for the benefit of the military/oil/industrial conglomerate.

to all who have stepped up and volunteered. If I were younger (where have I heard that before?) that statement could give me pause about enlisting.

24. Last evening on our local news, they reported the "grim milestone" of 4,000 of our troops dead.
And then they replayed the snippet of big dick's "So?" and "No". The anchor made no comment on the interview, just showed it; kind of like a post script to the 4,000 number. I nearly fell out of my chair.

Here in the republic state of Indiana, seeing something like that on the news is almost unheard of.
