I only wish I had the chance to vote for him then. I pray that I will get the chance to vote for him now.

1. I thought I heard a story about George Washington
Edited on Wed Feb-28-07 12:36 AM by NYCALIZ
after the revolution war, he retired to his plantation. He had NO intention of seeking public office. He was effectively guilted into being the first president by the other delegates since they insisted that he was the only person who could possibly credibly serve as the First President.

Anyone know if Gore responds to veiled guilt trips? or being quite literally drafted to serve?

2. No.
I don't think it was possible for any Democrat to win in 2004.

3. The Fix Was In
Gore would have lost and ruined his political future if he had run in '04. Diebold decided that race years earlier.

6. I don't quite believe that either
I just think that too many people had bought into the idea that only Bush could save us from terrorism. I saw it with my own eyes.

4. No, it would have been 2000 all over again,
played out in OH rather than FLA. The repoobs would have run the same campaign against him as in 2000.

But things are different now. I hope. He needs to run.

8. I think he was wise to sit out 2004
However, things have gone to hell in a handbasket since the 2004 election, in more ways than one. If Gore chooses to run, he WILL be president in 2008.

9. No
Any Democrat would have lost to the Rovian slime machine. Not to mention election fraud.

10. Officially, Kerry lost to Bush nationwide by roughly 3.5 million votes. Gore would've flipped that.
And he probably would've done that in 2000 if he had allowed his populist strain to show instead of parroting 3rd way talking points from the DLC.
