4. Frontline has been reporting on all of this for years, Since the war
started in fact. This 4 hour program was clipped together from various documentaries over the last several years.

13. I've just started watching PBS' "Bush's War" and that is what I was thinking
It's yet another redux of Frontline's previous Iraq coverage, including, it seems 'The Dark Side', 'The Lost Year in Iraq' among others. I wish there was a Cliff Notes that highlighted any new bits.

That covers the "too late" criticism. As for "too timid", there's not much to be done about it. PBS is just trying to provide the facts without being partisan or accusatory. Anyone watching should be able to draw their own conclusions.

5. I haven't seen it yet...
I'm pretty sure I could have written it and spend entirely too much of my time pissed off already. However, an elderly friend of mine who has spent the last seven years discounting my concerns about what the malAdministration has done to our country, watched it and is now horrified, angered, talking about it and recommending the show to others.

I am incredibly angry and disappointed that the endless crimes of this administration have been minimized, glossed over or completely ignored by the MSM - Frontline included - but I honestly believe that most American's need to be smacked upside the head with the mackerel before they'll call it a fish. They not only aren't hearing the information from their chosen news outlets, but most people are actively ignoring any information they find difficult and uncomfortable to process - in short, nearly everything done in our name over the past seven years.

No, it's not enough: They didn't go far enough, weren't critical enough and probably didn't mention many of the horrible things most of us know to be true, but if they've got my friend's attention on any level, they did a lot of good, reached far more people than we may think and awakened a segment of the population the Republics probably would have preferred stay sleeping.

7. Nonsense

First off it was anything but timid, it was the first of its kind to be broadcast on the main stream of the media that is constantly complained about for not providing information exactly like what Frontline presented. It showed the top of the Administration to be incompetent, egotistical megalomaniacs, there is nothing timid about that.

It was anything but too little. It covered the political intrigue at the top in sufficient detail to explain to even the dullest minds the series of events that led us into that war. Additionally, two hours fifteen minutes for the first half and two hours for the second half certainly could not be called a small or little television program.

To Late? How can the first television show to bring it all together be thought of as too late? Is the war over? Have other outlets given earlier information? No, no, no, and no.

It may not have been perfect but if you call Cheney the cause of the war you certainly can not be labeled timid, if you produce and air over 4 hours very expensive programming its hard to think of what you have done as too little, and when no one else has done anything, the cause continues, and they are the first to air such a show its hard to think of it as too late.

12. No doubt the episode was accusatory of the current administration
Edited on Thu Mar-27-08 08:43 AM by Postman
however, Ray McGovern cannot be dismissed so easily.

There were other documentaries produced VERY EARLY that could have been used as a catalyst for PBS to do their own similar expose'. They didn't.

The lies about this war were known early by those who had even a basic understanding of the issues regarding how Iraq COULD NOT have been connected to Al-Qaeda, the motivations of the PNAC (which PBS did not cover) etc., etc.

PBS is too late.

9. Frontline is the ONLY
news program that has covered Bush's torture programs, illegal spying, Cheney's machinations, WMD lies, Bremer's autocratic regime in Iraq, etc. This isn't one program, but part of a long series of critical reports that Frontline has done of the Bush Adm. for the past 6 years. Now they're not good enough? We should be glad Frontline is still around.

10. "It is as though an invisible Joseph Goebbels holds sway."
There are plenty of other quality doc films available on what's happened/happening to America.

illegal invasion in Iraq, and the role of this filthy regime we have in conducting the whole lie of invading an innocent country. I found all documentaries to be very on target, just to name a few.

Here is some of documentaries which I found to be great.
