4. War against Iran -- very likely. Although I doubt that the
American people want it, and I'm sure the Iranian people do not want it.

The Juan Cole article is interesting, but something more to the point is needed such as a chart that takes each of the Bush administration's arguments in favor of war against Iran and then in separate columns the evidence in favor of and opposing that argument.

The problem with articles like Juan Cole's is that fact and opinion are mixed. Many readers do not differentiate the facts from the opinion. As a result, the opinions not based on facts or based on very few facts are given the same weight as those having the same merit as opinions based on strong facts. An opinion that is false but presented in an emotionally moving manner is more persuasive than an opinion that is based on fact but that is not presented in an emotionally moving manner.
