The GOP is losing the blog war.
For fun I took a look at this site: http://www.gopbloggers.org/blogroll/ Google seems to think it's important.

Then I decided to see how the knuckle-draggers in my state are doing. There are over 40 listed blogs in Virginia.

* 20 have been updated since 2008.

* 5 are functional but have not been updated since 2008

* 2 are private

* 8 are broken or have been replaced

* 7 no longer exist

In other words over half of the sites listed on GOP Bloggers are no longer accessible to the public. I should add that the blog roll itself hasn't been updated in over a year.

It's probably unfair to draw many conclusions about my perceived drop-off of conservative blogs in Virginia. Conservative bloggers probably differ from their conservative brethren in many ways. For example, they are literate.

1. A GOP "blogger" is simply an echo chamber, whereas liberals blog because
they have ideas they want to express. It's really that simple. They were never equipped to compete on the web.

2. There is an ebb and rise to politics also

In my opinion the Democratic Party is being torn apart by the two leading candidates. Their continuing the blood letting is damaging the party and it's chances in the fall. They are pulling each others hair and giving information to the Republican Party that will be used against the winner in the fall. The party has become polarized and divided. The thought that a percentage of the losers camp will vote Republican rather then for the winner is revolting. We don't need four more years of Bush. Wake up and pull the party together. NAME A WINNER AND BE DONE WITH IT.

Don't be fooled by the presence or absence of Republican blogs. There is plenty of opposition to the Democratic Candidates, both of them or either one. John McCain is talking like he's moving to the left to draw in more independents and dissatisfied Democrats. Careful we don't win the battle and lose the war.
