Democrat Davis confirms he'll run again for Congress (NY-26)

Industrialist and two-time Democratic nominee Jack Davis said Wednesday that he would seek to replace Rep. Thomas Reynolds in Congress.

Davis said his decision was based on a poll he commissioned in the 26th District that asked residents about jobs, the economy, immigration, the war in Iraq and Davis' name recognition.

Iraq war veteran Jon Powers' campaign was less generous.

"Jack Davis already failed twice to win this seat," the Powers campaign said in a statement. "Western New Yorkers are looking for something different. They're looking for a candidate who is actually listening to people from Buffalo to Rochester."

Despite Davis' prior efforts, the mood among party activists this year seems to be favoring Powers.
