I never repeat gossip, so I'm only gonna say this once...
Some of you, perhaps most of you, will be angry at my repetition of this info which came to me today from an exceedingly reliable source. Those of you who've read my posts over the years know that I may occasionally be prone to hyperbole, but I never misrepresent or quote my sources out of context nor do I lie.

So you're waiting...before I state this piece of 'news', I say it not because I like to spread stupid personal stuff about public people - most public personae mean nothing to me and I could care less who Brad Pitt dated, or where Angelina posed naked. But occasionally, we discover something about someone who is significantly involved in politics or in the media which explains a lot about their odd behavior. In this overarching media circus, some people are omnipresent and many of us attempt to understand their personae. Today, I learned from someone positioned quite well that:

Tweety's married in name only. The word used was 'sham'.

Apparently he manifests continuously lascivious behavior which repulses many people who are unfortunately for them, positioned very close to him. I'm not going to say much more but, suffice it to say that all armchair psychologists here can add this to their profiling of this shtunk.

Now I know that there are going to be posts such as, personal lives are not at issue here, how dare I repeat stuff like this when there are so many more important issues, like global warming, military-industrial complex, fascist takeover by the BFEE cabal, etc. Well, when you have a guy pontificating about Bill's and thus Hillary's blow-jobs, about Spitzer, about who's good for America, a self-righteous asshole of the first order, then I believe that this information is germane and is critical in analyzing the source.

2. What?
What I said is what I heard. The point is that his off-screen behavior is a continuation of his on-screen...etc.

Off-topic: even IF, anyone had said anything about him being gay, which this person did not, having kids does not rule out anything.

When I read, "repulses the people he interacts with" (paraphrasing here), that doesn't make me think of gay.

9. me either
which is why the reference was confusing, as well as the rest of the OP

I'm assuming that the OP means that Tweety isn't faithful to his wife (maybe that's what a "sham" marriage means). But there was a lot to wade through and interpret to get to that.

At least, he didn't insult her like Don Imus CONTINUOUSLY insulted his wife on his TV show.

The "hearsay" nature of your comments trouble me, even if they are quoted exactly by your friends.

Hi Radio Lady!

He's on best behavior with her...she knows the real Tweety...not that there's all that much to know. -wink wink-

I'll bet he doesn't interrupt her at dinner and spit all over the pork roast...she'd kick him in the nuts so hard that the dental hygenist would have to clean around them at his next 6 month checkup.

31. Since YOU asked....
A 'sham' marriage is one which exists legally, where one partner may or may not make public appearances with the other, where one or both or no partner is having a romantic/sexual liason with a third, fourth, or fifth party, where children may or may not be raised by both but objectively would not be considered as coming from a 'broken home'.

There are other parameters, I'm certain, but I'm too tired after a week of digging holes and filling them to think all that much.

53. That is an excellent definition. I accept it completely. As a matter of fact,
Edited on Sat Mar-29-08 01:19 AM by Radio_Lady
it is so generous I think that "sham" marriage could describe MY marriage, with some selections.

Here they are:

Our marriage exists legally, to be sure. Neither or both of us make all public appearances together, which now consist of movies, plays, and concerts, as well as car and plane rides to travel destinations. Perhaps you might consider Home Depot and Lowe's -- where he frequently goes without me.

To the best of my knowledge and belief, no partner is having a romantic/sexual liaison with any third, fourth, or (God help us!) fifth party. (I don't even have enough place settings at my table for that large a group!) To be fair, that could include mostly solitary sexual activities without involving each other, by our choice and convenience. The other unspoken parameter is "giving it up completely" -- and I'm sure most young people consider that the horror of horrors! But circumstances change, libido burns lower, and that's about it for my descriptive prose. Husband is almost 74, and I will be 69 in May. Nothing to moan or rave about there.

All five of our children were raised in a "blended family" -- one widower, one divorcee. The home was never broken, just cracked in a couple of places when the seven of us lived together in the 1970s and the early 1980s.

Whatever Chris Matthews and his wife do or don't do in their spare time is their business, not mine. I rarely listen to him because he has a terribly tinny tenor voice and I don't like the way he treats many of his guests.

Cordially,

Radio Lady

57. Oh yes and one more obvious point of course...
They have nothing 'to do' with each other.

That was implicit in the proposition, but since DU has become the O.E.D. of statememt parsing, I unfortunately left it out since...well, since that's not how I think at the present time, but may have to learn how to in the future, assuming that there is a future...etc.

I'm gonna have to write another post about all this if I'm allowed. Since you are not supposed to write posts about posts (meta-posts) I'm going to keep it self-referential in a limited sense, and more global in a greater sense.

7. Oh OK...
Most people who say that someone has had kids are trying to negate the notion that the person in question is gay. OF course that's just ridiculous...but if I assumed too much, then I apologize.

This person never said that Tweety at one time didn't haved a marriage, but that it is not ooperative at this time, to use Nixon-speak.

64. I'm certain that Thoreau himself

would have been pleased to know that his moralistic detractors were 'morally compromised'.

Why do you think he left Walden Pond?

On edit: SO much sanctimony...on a message board which includes an item about a man having sex with a picnic table.

Spare me...

66. Yeah, this IS gossip...
and as a progressive, my attitude is the same word
that Dick Cheney used the other day : "So?"

I suppose because Tweety is a big head at MSNBC,
and knows all the right people this is something
to talk about.

I suppose because Tweety brags about his Philly street
cred, and that he went to all Catholic schools,
and served under this administration and that administration
this gives us something to talk about.

I suppose that because his brother is running for governor,
and his wife has a position of import, and his daughter
a Penn student is an Obama organizer this is somehow thrilling...

but really, he is repulsive, and who really cares?

Let talk and rant about others; his karma will come
back and bite him in the ass.

begin a post...

I'm a progressive too...and I believe that what has been good for the goose is good for the gander. The karma which will bite him in the ass will emanate form the populus and his overblown ego and missteps. Some of us are watching him closely. The Rethugs attempted to destroy the Democrat (sic) Party and subvert the Constitution via lies and fearmongering. Tweety and others contributed to this effort mightily and they should know that we have a very long memory.
