Just wanted everyone to know that I was released from the hospital and got home about an hour and a half ago. Just finished settling in.
The surgery was a complete success, going faster and smoother than anyone expected, and my recovery also seems to be moving very briskly. (The doctor was shocked to find that the nurses got me up into a chair and sitting upright the morning after the operation with little difficulty.)
I go in Monday morning to have the final staples removed from my incisions, and I probably have a couple of weeks of wound care on the one large wound where my stoma used to be, which seems to have gotten infected shortly before the surgery and we're treating it very gingerly for now. Fortunately enough, that will be covered under the payment plan we managed to work out, so I can afford it.
I just wanted to let everyone know all is well. I'm probably going to re-cloak for a while and lay low, however, just to give myself as much relaxation time to recover as possible, and staying away from the Presidential race is the best way to avoid stress for me right now. :) My thanks to everyone for their love, prayers, thoughts, and other moral support.
