The Statue of Liberty.

Just a comment on the times. I live in New York and recently took some out-of-town family visitors to the Statue of Liberty. Virtually every souvenir in the large Gift Shop, including hundreds of different-sized replicas of Lady Liberty, were all "Made in China". An exception: the Statue of Liberty baseball cap I purchased was "Made in Cambodia".

4. Just went there yesterday!

I hate gift shops! I avoid them. But there were plenty of tourists there, including Asian tourists.

5. Just checked the Statue of Liberty

on my desk, on the bottom it says 1985, made in China. So is the figure of the Empire State. Now I have check the rest of my stuff.

In the 1880s French people contributed $$ for the building of a statue in another country!
