The former governor of a state is released from prison, pending appeal, after months of heel-dragging and obfuscation by the repug U.S. attorneys who prosecuted him, and the repug judge who sentenced him and denied bond.
Claims that the governor was a political prisoner.
And apparently a major investigation of the politicization of the DOJ by The House Judiciary Committee in the offing. And Siegelman will testify.
To me that would be a pretty big story. I've been watching C-span WJ most of the morning. Nary a mention from callers or commentators.
Just flipped over to Russert (I know...I know) and the Elmer Fudd-like head of the CIA, Gen. Michael Hayden, is on scrabbling to justify what his agency has done. BTW, you'll be pleased to learn that 'we don't waterboard any more. And we 'only' did it 3 times anyway.'
I'll try and catch some more of the talking head-pundit shows this morning. Anybody seen ANYTHING about this in the corporate media?
