"I voted for him twice, and I'd vote for him again, if I could."
Edited on Sun Mar-30-08 04:03 PM by Ishoutandscream2
Even in this little piece of hell I live in, not too many people will now admit that their vote for Bush was wise. They always seem to have some flimsy excuse, and when they're called on it, they say something like "well, both political parties are bad." Lame excuses like that for voting for the worst president in our republic's history.

Well, for entertainment, I go to MLB.com to catch up on baseball news. Well, goes to show that President Chucklenuts will be throwing out the first pitch tonight in Washington, DC. Upon hearing this, Atlanta outfielder Matt Diaz said, "That will be cool. I voted for him twice, and I'd vote for him again, if I could."

Now really, who nowadays proclaims publicly happiness in voting for Bush not just once, but twice? And would vote for him again?! I know I shouldn't put too much stock in what a young ballplayer says about politics, but I had to have a drink after I read this.

1. His 19% is similar to Hillary's
Both groups seem to glom onto what they want to see/hear and ignore the big picture.

2. Matt Diaz: Worst person in the world?
I hope Olbermann hears about this.

Of course, if Matt Diaz is like most pro baseball players, he has the cumulative knowledge of a grape. Like a lot of sports "heroes," they only care about the money they make.

Hello, professional golf.

That's what sports scholarships are for.

3. I just looked him up.
Yep, looks like ignorant freeper scum to me. And proud of it. :eyes:

Hey Matt-- Eat shit.

And hope you bought some Euros and some gold. When the economy tanks, people aren't going to be able to afford to go to games, and the owners won't be able to pay your exorbitant salary anymore.

8. So why isn't this little pissant quitting his multi-million dollar job to go over
and protect us from those evil terrorists in I-rack? That's what any god fearing, country loving, red-blooded American patriot would do.

9. Probably
none of BushCo's policies have personally affected him. He's probably benefitted from the tax cuts and has the same romantic attitudes about the war that Bush has.

What's not to like?

12. Plenty of pro atheletes are "Tax-epublicans"
They'll vote for anyone who they think will keep their personal taxes lower. Good actors, musicians, artists, generally have a quality called "empathy", with makes them tend to support Democrats. Empathy is certainly not a requirement to be a successful athelete, in fact it might be considered a flaw.

14. It was the same thing
with Nixon, right after news of Watergate broke anyone you asked if they voted for him would say no. It got to be kind of funny that nobody voted for him yet he still managed to get elected.

Of course he loves Bush. He IS Bush, minus the youth.
