Amazing anti-Gore LTTE..
This guy truly is from another planet.

I thank the academy for the reality check

Occasionally, my memory wanders. I thank the Academy Award folks for bringing me back to reality and helping me remember why I thank a divine Providence every week that Al Gore was not and is not our president. To see him armpit to armpit with those Hollywood lefties tells all you may have forgotten about how fortunate our country is. You may not like President Bush, but don't lose sight of the fact that it could have been much worse.

3. Clearly he has armpit issues
It's nice when people feel free to air their neuroses on the LTTE page.

What a confused guy. "Thank you divine Providence for...oh, yeah! I had forgotten why until I watched the Academy Awards." :eyes:

5. Wow. What could have been so much worse? A president that paid attention to warnings
from dozens of other countries, our intelligence agencies, and briefing memos that indicated the USA was about to be attacked? A worse 'war' decision than sending military troops to occupy a 3rd. rate country while allowing those behind the attacks of 9-11 to go free? A worse response to the natural destruction of a great American city? More people without jobs? More to die without medical insurance or care? More Americans sinking into poverty? A worse foreign policy than 'preemptive' destruction of any country that disagrees with us?

Sure, right, Jimbo!

6. Imagine having a president which would actually improve the average IQ
level of the white house, instead of dramatically and drastically lowering it, almost pulling the average into the negatives ...

7. I notice, outside of DU, the media has more to say about Gore than about global climate change...
A LOT more could be done to leverage the message in this film, but it's not...

What we're seeing in the media (Gore's weight, the director got the award, not Gore, hollywood liberals, etc) seems to defeat / diffuse the purpose of the documentary. If I were Gore, putting aside his childish toying with revealing his presidential ambitions (or lack thereof) I would:

1) want as many people as possible to see the movie. Put the damn thing on PBS.
2) create a website which repeats the lecture, line by line, sentence by sentence, with supporting references.
3) actively address the kooks, oil and coal companies, I mean, critics of global warming. Don't let them swiftboat the reality of global climate change and the fact that we are the ones causing it. The website in #2 would also serve to be a mediamatters.org to specifically debunk the propaganda about global climate change.

9. Yes, exactly... please READ...
If you go to http://www.climatecrisis.net/thescience/ as I did, you'll see a *VERY* **basic** outline of the science.

I'd like to see a LINE BY LINE breakdown of the whole film.

But the website you mention, the one I looked at before I wrote my message, falls WAY short of this.

This is what I'm talking about (from the above page): "The vast majority of scientists agree that global warming is real"....

Now *I* already accept that 1) there IS GCC and 2) WE'RE causing it. So *I* don't need to find out WHAT ***EXACTLY*** they mean by "The vast majority of scientists"...

Look, if you're already convinced, you don't even need a basic outline of the science.

I'm talking about people who need convincing. I'm talking about people seeing the movie, and 45 minutes into the thing Gore says this and that, and people want to know where "he got that"...

The website COULD do that. It doesn't. It's basically a tool to sell the DVD...
