Ha! They're afraid to identify themselves as Republicans,
at least not at first. Just on CNN, a hispanic radio woman just asked the white political pundit, "Would I consider you a Republican?" The woman hostess said, "It's not that easy anymore." And the white pp replied, "American first, conservative second, Republican third."

Both are venomous.

30. Funny how "conservatives" are distancing themselves from "Republicans" these days.
Look at what Georgie gave them - huge tax cuts for the rich, less regulation for business, and a big ol' endless war to enrich their defense contractor businesses.

The problem here of course is that conservatives don't like the OUTCOMES of these actions. Huge budget deficits, falling dollar, monstrous business failures, etc. Since the outcomes were BAD, then "logically" they couldn't have come from true CONSERVATIVE policies, duh!

So the guy they creamed their pants over in 2000 is now supposedly not a "real" conservative.

Hilarious.

2. oh, it's easy
it's easy for me to nail a republican pundit as soon as they open their lying spinning hateful mouths and proceed to spew crap, most of which never even touches on the issues that matter.

4. Ah don't let them escape
Mindless deregulation that collapsed the economy, giving the finger to the bottom 90% of wage earners, ignoring terrorism in favor of an unnecessary war, destroying our reputation at home and abroad, handouts to billionaires and international corporations, unconditional free trade (no concern for US workers, labor or environment) that hollows out the middle class.

These are all republican accomplishments of 8 years. The GOP shouldn't be able to distance themselves from it.

6. It's all a part of their rebranding...
...but, instead of

"American first, conservative second, Republican third."

It's actually:

"Party first, Hate second, Party mouthpiece third, ideology fourth, corporate boss fifth, self sixth, Jesus seventh, church eighth..."

8. I figure they're trying to reframe because most of us have learned to
counter their claims of, "Why do you hate America?" with, "We don't hate America, we hate Republican policy."

14. It's amazing how they work it into their other qualities.
They're Christians that just want you to work for work's sake. Never mind that the money that come from endless working, usually corrupts the soul.

25. We can only guess how Republican bosses are going to react now
that profits are falling and they have to cut back on that trip to Aruba. I know I've learned to keep my mouth shut, because, even though I think I live an austere life, just because I stay at home people think I'm well to do. You can feel the bitterness. It's everywhere. It is getting very, very hectic out there for small business owners and the desperation is easy to see and feel. Yet, I do sense a touch of humbleness in them I haven't seen before. They know their politics failed them. Yet, that's not going to be an automatic homerun for the Dems.

7. They're trying to put the failure of their *ideas* off on some politicians.
We shouldn't ever let them do it. We are in the mess we're in because of Conservative policies. It's their political ideology that's failed-- not just a collection of individuals.

I think we should paraphrase their classic quote on Communism whenever they talk politics; tell them Conservatism has been tried, and it failed. Move on to something new.

...Let's flush them out, instead. And once they're in the cesspool of the federal penitentiary, keep 'em there.

Really like what the caller said, except I'd say "American first, Liberal second, Democrat third." Really, on any given day it could be any order for the latter two.
