Think Get-Off-My-Lawn-You-Kids is going to get hammered by the press...
Edited on Wed Apr-02-08 07:24 AM by Aviation Pro
...over such statements as not knowing the difference between Sunni al-Qaeda and Shiite Hezbollah? Do you remember back in 2000 when the aspiring President Insane couldn't name the world leaders he was about to deal with? Never underestimate the stupidity of the average American and NEVER FOR ONCE BELIEVE THAT CORPORATE MEDIA IS NEUTRAL OR ON OUR SIDE!

Tip of the roughhouse discourse to Bushmeister0 for pointing out Grandpa's faux pas in another post.

1. You're correct.
MSNBC is biased toward the far-left, FOX News is to the far-right, and CNN is mostly moderate-right. Agendas are transparent. They all know how to feed their core audiences exactly what they want to hear and make sure to throw in one or two token dissenters to say "no, we're balanced because we have (x)". (think Buchannan on MSNBC or Colmes on Fox)

2. I keep seeing the term "far left" here on DU...
What, pray tell, is the "far left?" I used to only hear the term coming from Limbaugh, Hannity, and O'Reilly, but now it's appearing here.

4. I guess far-left was a bit of a hyperbole.
Progressive-left seems more accurate. It departs from what the majority of Americans would consider to be what the Democratic party stands for, although the candidates themselves seem to be aligned with that particular ideology so I guess that is what the party has morphed into.

5. Good point! Me too!
"MSNBC is biased toward the far-left"? On what planet (besides the planet Murdock) is that even remotely true? Jeez, it is getting weird on this board...

9. I'd say that "intelligence level of a 5-year old or older" could describe someone like that. :)
Anyone who agrees with Georgie the Conqueror is A-Okay in my book.

16. Oh.
I was just saying that another label for those who disagreed with Bush's politics could be "anyone older than a 5-year old", insinuating that even 5-year olds could see through his laughably transparent imperialistic goals. I phrased it horribly. :(

14. Dem Centrists now use that word to describe the "dirty hippies."
Just to point out that those who want change in the Dem Party are dangerous radicals. They started that pretty much when we won back the House & Senate do to the agitation and giving by "Dirty Lefty Hippies" on the "internets." :eyes:

6. I would have agreed with that before Tucker was fired.
He was really the only obviously non-Democrat voice during that whole "prime-time" block of programming. Chris isn't as hard-line as KO or certainly not Maddow (I know she doesn't have a show but she might as well considering the amount of airtime she has) and the guy after KO is definitely skewed to the left. Keep in mind that I don't see this as a bad thing, but it is just obvious bias.

8. Your hobby is nuclear energy?
What is Your definition of "far left?" Cuz there ain't nothin' far left on TV, except maybe some aspects of the Link TV channel.

Democrat does not equal "far left" by a long shot.

And I said in an above post that my usage of far-left was a bit hyperbolic.

Edit: and yes, nuclear energy (and nuclear physics in general) is fascinating to me.

18. "Non-Democrat voice"?
Didn't you mean, 'non-Democratic voice"? And letting Tucker go equals "far-left bias"? I think your Repub is showing...

20. There is no liberal media.
MSNBC is, at best, a "balanced" network, although that's highly debatable. The rest are water-carriers for the Cabal.

22. But, but , but he held a great barbecque
Remember the barbeque off-the record weekend McCain held for reporters at the Sedonah mountain 5 star resort, complete with massages and guided spiritual nature hikes. He makes reporters feel so good. It's natural that they give him the benefit of the doubt. Why would any reporter want to give up future junkets by criticizing him? 5 star resorts. Massages. Nature hikes. Mmmm.
