Assured of the Republican nomination, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) is touring the country this week to “introduce himself” and raise millions of dollars for the fall. The challenge will be to cut through the myths, the spin and the glowing press coverage and get to the real issue: Is McCain the right candidate to turn around America?
The International Labor Communications Association (ILCA) has released a McCain Communications Toolkit so union members and their families can educate their friends and neighbors about the threat McCain poses to workers and their families.

http://www.ilcaonline.org/ht/display/ArticleDetails/i/67396The comprehensive toolkit includes websites, articles and videos examining McCain’s voting record and his campaign promises and includes a link to the AFL-CIO’s McCain Revealed. The ILCA is trying to get out the answer to an important question: What kind of president would John McCain be for working families?
The answer: A disaster. ILCA’s links allow us to count the ways:
* McCain’s health care plan won’t cover more people.
* McCain says he strongly supports the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).
* McCain offers no solutions to the housing crisis and even blames home owners. Surprise! He and the lobbyists who run his campaign are in deep with the mortgage-lending industry.
* McCain’s Senate votes on bills that affect the middle class get failing grades, according to the economy-focused Drum Major Institute.
* McCain’s priorities are clear: fewer jobs and more wars—even though war spending is straining our economy.
* McCain gets the Bush seal of approval.
The ILCA will update the McCain Toolkit regularly, so be sure to bookmark the page and check back for the latest news on where McCain stands on the issues that matter.
The AFL-CIO will spend the upcoming months mobilizing unprecedented numbers of workers as part of the Working Families Vote 2008 campaign to help elect a worker-friendly Congress and president.
