Former Vice President Al Gore to Present "An Inconvenient Truth" at University Lecture Series

As part of the University of Miami's ongoing series of programs to heighten environmental awareness and advocacy, former Vice President of the United States Al Gore will speak on Wednesday, February 28, at 6:30 p.m. at the BankUnited Center on the Coral Gables campus.

A distinguished guest for the University Lecture Series, Gore will present "An Inconvenient Truth," a multimedia version of his bestselling book and Academy Award-winning documentary on global warming. Since the 2000 election, Gore has rechanneled his energy to focus on saving the planet from irrevocable change. He urgently delivers the stirring truth of what he calls our "planetary emergency."

Apparently during one event, the sound for the Futurama cartoon went out, and he did the funny voices without missing a beat. My guess is that Gore could pull off the talk without the visual aids at all, since he knows the material so well and is passionate about it.

I still think, BTW, that we as a society and civilization have a DUTY to do everything humanly possible to avert disaster.

Gore's coming to Clinton, NY, at Hamilton College, on April 26th @ 7:30 and no reservations so I have to get there really early if I wanna get seat.
