Email about Oprah's puppy mill investigation...
Edited on Thu Apr-03-08 06:23 PM by cynatnite
My sister sent me an email and included in it was a commentary about Oprah doing a report about dog breeders. In it he rails against animal rights groups like the Humane Society (which I always thought was respectable) and PETA (they've got issues no matter where their heart is). He claims their agenda is to eliminate dog ownership and to get rid of groups like his.

He rails on Oprah and her viewers who might want to do something about animals that are being abused...which is the point of this show she's planning.

I always shake my head at people like these. They claim to care and want to help, yet when a person and/or group not to their liking cares and wants to help, they slime them.

I know many DUer's here are avid animal lovers and only want the best for them, but it really chaps my hide that they're slammed for caring.

Anyway, if anyone cares to take a look...let me know what you think...

This is a copy of what she sent me:

Here is one of John Yates' sites:

Is it just me or does anyone find that using dogs to hunt with is wrong? My husband and my family are avid hunters and none of them ever used dogs for hunting. Seems cruel and seems like it's cheating, too.

2. Looks like he's a real nutjob...
He also has done significant lobbying work for firearms rights and dog owners' groups, was the co-founder of the Pennsylvania Gun Owners' Association, and has done public relations work for political figures and organizations.

I am sick of seeing the word "liberal" misused that way. SICK!

4. Anti-animal welfare groups like this and the NAIA
only care about how many ways they can use an animal for fun or profit. Look at their "leadership". Bunch of hunters and dog breeders. They don't want anyone besmirching their ability to exploit, kill or sell any animal they want.

a/k/a fucking idiots.
