Texas has soft/hard ball sized hail - glass shards everywhere

What meteorologists call a supercell thunderstorm passed across North Texas, damaging homes with hail the size of softball. In Wise County, emergency dispatchers received two reports of damaged homes early this morning. A Wise County emergency dispatcher said one home had windows shattered because of hail and the other had its windows blow in by straight-line winds. The dispatcher said there was hail the size of baseballs out at Decatur Airport and softball-sized hail at the sheriff's department. National Weather Service meteorologist Dan Shoemaker said the system is "a pretty good storm" that had produced winds as high as 50 miles per hour.)

1. My sympathy goes to those whose homes were damaged
but I'd say your punch line has the makings of a DUzy.

3. Sorry to hear that
We had one of those here in Mid Mo a couple of years ago. If you have any damage from that, get your claims and contracts for the work done early. It turned into a year long nightmare here with homes and cars stacked up for months trying to get repaired. And beware the con artists, they will be descending like locusts on your area shortly.

4. Luckily, we just got golf-ball sized, and not even the cars were dimpled.
But it sure was a loud drumming at 3 in the morning.

I thought maybe HRC was calling. ;-)

i much prefer calif with the earthquake luming than the spring, beginning of summer here in texas with tornados. i keep my weatherunderground handy so i can see instead of depending on news and my whatever alarm on.... lol lol

i remember when i use to enjoy, embrace, feed on a good violent storm.
