Well, didn't CALL *him* that. But after a truly scintillating debate, a REAL debate, between the two Brit show-puppies (th'other one, Histopher CHICKENS), where G.E. stayed out of the way and let the participants TALK, unlike when he "moderates" debates--------
G.E. was signing off, retro-introducing them for the umpteenth time and said, "Andrew SULLIVAN, (editor?) of The Atlantic and daily blogger on The Daily BUSH!1 ---------uh, I mean, The Daily Dish!1"
A classic Freudian one.
As usual for G.E.RUSSERT, when he screws up he ignores, papers-over, trudges on like the true ex-flunky he was and will always be at his core.
Was it in 2000? On C-SPAN a good, irate Dem called in and SMACKED him for being a Rethug mouthpiece, saying he was no better or different than Faux. G.E. went into this classic Beltway STONEWALL mode, replying, "The caller is mistaken. I don't work for (Faux), I work for NBC."
It was totally obvious what the caller had said. G.E.'s evading and attempting to paint the caller as loony was pathetic. Of course, they had taken the caller off the phone so there was no chance to rebut.
