What in the world?

Warmonger means someone who advocates or tries to stir up war.

Cue that bastard singing "Bomb Iran."

Warmonger. Case closed.

I'm sorry that the Obama campaign apologized for this. It was a backhanded apology, if you read it in full, but an apology was in there.

John McCain is a warmonger.

ETA: Maybe this belonged in GDP since I said something about the Obama campaign. If so, mods, please move.

EATA: I just saw this. I looked up the definition of course.

John McCain's picture is literally on the same page.

1. More Important...He's Wreckless
Edited on Mon Apr-07-08 07:56 AM by KharmaTrain
Try to pin Gramps down on specifics of anything and listen for the crickets. Th Bullshit Express is quick to "shoot from the hip" without any basis in reality...especially when it comes to the military.

The meme is that Gramps is some great military leader...that somehow since he cooled his heels in the Hanoi Hilton, that experience gives him some great status in being a "war leader". If Gramps was such a great military tactician, he would have never been shot down. It just demostrates how he's wreckless and the war monger is just a part of that MO.

I laugh at how thin-skinned the wingnuts have gotten. Actually it's just them churning more manure around. So now the word "war monger" is a perjurative? In Gramps case, he's voted for this mess, he's supported this mess and wants it to go on indefinitely. Sure sounds like a war monger to me.

2. That "Bomb Iran"
comment was a joke, and a bad one, similar to what Reagan said about the Soviet Union just before one of his radio addresses.

How does humor translate into warmonger.

8. Humor is OFTEN a facade. That fact is patently obvious from just listening
to lots of people, over time, in a variety of casual social situations. Have you ever watched the Comedy Channel? Heard of a guy named Don Rickles?

I'm pretty certain there is enough psychological research to demonstrate the same. I think I'll make a project out of supplying DU some.

17. Then you are aware of the various "sub-terranean" uses of humor.
Oh yeah, and also Lenny Bruce and George Carlin - quite a bit less sub-terranean, but humor as a tool nonetheless.

14. That's not the only evidence, just the most blatant.
Do you really think John McCain wants to throw Iran a big party with punch and pie?

He is urging and trying to stir up war with Iran. I really didn't think I needed to produce evidence of that here at DU.

18. It shows he is joking about a serious thing
And has a frivolous attitude towards it.

If he had such a bad time in Viet Nam, why is he so eager to have others go through the same or worse? And in a case where it is even less necessary for the U.S. to be involved than it was in Viet Nam.

15. Self-fulfilling prophecy? or Un-avoidable "truth"? I hope the People, for all
of their shortcomings and ignorance, have a little more to say about which it is this time. And if that is a real possibility it includes Congress and the pResident.

4. CNN this morning quizzing Big Ed Schultz about warmonger
statement. John Roberts asks Ed "Why would you call him a warmonger". Ed told him that it was a valid remark and NO he wasn't sorry he said it. When will the rest of the people that claim to be Democrats, grow a pair? Either show some disdain for remarks like John Roberts or stay off the teevee. I'm so sick of hearing Democrats apologize for speaking the TRUTH.

5. I'm not sorry the Obama campaign is trying to keep it civil.
Maybe when both campaigns go head to head the favor will be returned. I see Obama skewering McCain when that happens, politely. ;)

9. This is sort of tit for tat.
Mccain apologized after Billy Cunningham made a fool of himself with his over-the-top comments about Obama a few weeks ago.

... But that's ok, because now it's "out there".

16. I'm so tired of Obama having to apologize for truisms espoused by his
supporters whilst someone else throws kitchen sinks around and unapologetically makes stuff up.
